Preparing a class on the graphic novel and animation for Monday, I came across this. For all of you who have little girls:

Oh Google plus. Can we still work it out? What do you have that is awesome? What can you give me that others can't?

/shrug

I've enough activity from (mostly) people I know to make it worth checking daily.  My main stream has got quieter since they launched Communities, but things are better organised with them, I think.  There's also the advantage of much improved privacy, over FB.

It's kind of a mix of what Livejournal used to be, combined with a reduced-drama/inanity Facebook.  And like either of those, or any other social media, you only get back out of it if you contribute, too.

Do not be defeated by the
Feeling that there is too much for you to know. That
Is a myth of the oppressor.

Can't make it to the demo this evening but will go to this march on Saturday at 16.00 from the Garden of Remembrance to the Dail, followed by a candlelight vigil.

Please come along to show to the Government and the Church that what happened to Savita and goodness knows how many other women in Ireland is wholly unacceptable.

(apologies for a bad Facebook link)

When we built the house we laid the pipes for it, but didn't connect it until 2 years later. Its powered by a air exchange unit like this one http://www.pet.ie/air-to-water-heat-pumps.html.
When the air temp is low it uses electricity to boost the system - gets expensive if very cold for a long time.

If anyone in the Maynooth catchment area is looking for daytime Pilates classes, I've been going to Eleanor of finesse.ie for about a year at this stage. She has only very recently set up her own studio on Maynooth main street and is looking for more people for the classes. She's exceptionally nice, an excellent teacher, takes into account your individual fitness/flexibility/injuries/inclinations and as the classes are very small, she's able to give you loads of individual attention.

The level 1 classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.45 and level 2 (some previous experience) on same days at 1.40 pm.
Edit: According to the timetable Pilates 1 is also on on Wednesday mornings at 10.30, but best check with her, as I don't know how many of the classes are up and running yet.
