It's a shame that the US has turned off their Loran stations for US coverage since 2010. The cost of upgrading to eLoran is little more than the expense involved in simply launching a new satellite. When (not if) our GPS goes down due to jamming - like N. Korea keeps doing to S. Korea - or a large solar flare burns our our satellites, we have NO back up system. Not only will navigation by air, sea, and land be affected, but the timing system involved in the stock market and financial transactions worldwide will go down as they are also GPS dependent.
Dept.of Homeland Sec. recommended and authorized eLoran to be installed in 2008 to protect us against this very scenario. Nothing has been done and in 2010 the Loran stations were turned off.
Contact your Senate and Congressional Representatives and ask why we are being left so vulnerable.

I had a wonderful experience working with Mark Barons of Barons Custom Homes. He is a great guy who pays attention to the details and builds gorgeous custom homes.

Top notch Family Law attorneys that helped during a difficult time for my family. They are experienced, knowledgable and put your children first and foremost. You can't find better representation in the Boston area.

I have been lucky enough to visit Curtain Bluff for the last three years in a row. I've been travelling with my mother who has been there for 32 years straight. We are greeted with hugs from all the staff and "Welcome home" when we arrive. The place is gorgeous. I've gotten to know many of the guests that travel there at this same time because so many of them come back again and again. Everything is included and they take care of the finest details - all with smiles and warmth. It's the perfect vacation spot.
