"Kusinilo Si Bao" or "The Turtle is a Chef" (N.Alcala,2015) - commissioned and performed by the Indonesian group The Archipelago Singers at the 2nd Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival (July, 2015).
The composition is based on a Maguindanao folk chant: "Dendi, dendi, dendi, bona, dendi. The turtle is a good chef, a complete kitchen too. His head is the grater. His stomach is the stove. His tail is the ladle, dendi bona dendi. And his legs are firewood, a dendi bona dendi."
