Fällforsen

I have spent a couple of days up in northern Sweden. On our way to Storforsen, one of the biggest remaining rapids in Europe, we passed by Fällforsen. It's a much smaller rapid in the same river, but still great to watch. There's something about flowing water that really makes you forget everything else. With rapids like this you can feel it in your body, with the constant thunder and ever changing flow of the water.

Soon it's snowing on Omberg

Omberg is a mountain, although not very tall. Not at all actually... It's just 263 meters above sea level, and 175 above lake Vättern. But since the surrounding landscape is so flat, it still rises a bit. It also has some very interesting nature, which can't be found nearby.

On this particular March day the sun was shining, but all of a sudden clouds rolled in and a snow storm appeared. Perfect photo opportunity :-)

Garden Bridge at night

The Garden Bridge (Wàibáidù Qiáo) was built in 1908, replacing an older bridge. It's a symbol of Shanghai and nowadays (as many other things) it's well lit at night. The whole scene with mostly orange and black tones became quite surreal :-)

Stockholm City Hall in fog

We did a photowalk in Stockholm with a bunch of people that met here on Google+ in the early days and have done a photowalk now and then since. We started the day with a grey and foggy Stockholm, I love that! The City Hall is an iconic building with among others the Blue Hall where the Nobel prize party is held annually.

South Stack Lighthouse

South Stack (Ynys Lawd in Welsh) is a small island outside the bigger Holy Island outside the much bigger Anglesey in the northwest corner of Wales. On South Stack is a famous lighthouse, very popular among photographers. To get to this spot you have to walk down a winding stair with more than 400 steps. Don't forget that you have to get up as well ;-) On the steep cliffs there's lots of sea birds, so it's also popular among ornithologists.

We made a visit at sunset. I would have preferred to have some clouds as well, but you can't get everything :-)

Pudong Skyline

I really never get tired of this view. I have posted a number of photos of this famous Shanghai skyline and I'm quite sure that this won't be the last.

I'm currently doing test prints for my next exhibition this autumn, and there will be a bunch of different Pudong skylines present :-)

I'm printing!

A bunch of Shanghai (and surroundings) street photos are currently on their way through the printer. It's in preparation for an exhibition this autumn that will be about my China visits.

For these photos I'm using Hahnemühle Bamboo, a Fine Art paper made mostly from bamboo, which I thought was perfect for these :-)

So, why start already now, I only need to be done in September? First of all, it gives me the chance to really look at the photos now and then, to see if further edits are needed, which should go in the exhibition and so on. Secondly, it's fun! Also, I'm running the printing as a business as well, so who knows, my services might be needed just at that time and paying customers have some priority!

Stay tuned for more information on the exhibition, eventually it will end up here.

Longhua Temple & Pagoda

The Longhua Temple is the largest, most authentic and complete ancient temple complex in the city of Shanghai (according to Wikipedia). Longhua Pagoda is best well-known of the 16 historic pagodas that still stand within the Shanghai municipality.

It's all very beautiful and well worth a visit!
