For some reason, I keep thinking about this article from +Nick Hanauer  today: "The Pitchforks Are Coming..." http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/06/the-pitchforks-are-coming-for-us-plutocrats-108014.html#.VUFjWSFViko
Memo: From Nick HanauerTo: My Fellow ZillionairesYou probably don’t know me, but like you I am one of those .01%ers, a proud and unapologetic capitalist. I have founded, co-founded and funded more than 30 companies across a range of industries—from itsy-bitsy ones like the night club I started in my 20s to giant ones like Amazon.com, for...

Great summary of Borrell Local Media Conf with 20 Expert Opinions @localmediarocks on @LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/local-media-industry-20-expert-opinionsprojections-nancy-lane
By Nancy Lane, President, Local Media AssociationThe Borrell Local Online Advertising Conference is always thought provoking, edgy and even a little controversial. This year was no exception. As I sifted through my notes and tweets, I thought it would be fun to share 20 quotes from the conference. I think all local media executives will want to give these thought whether you agree with them or not. Some are informational, some are predictions and...

Cool post on the evolution of Twitter.  Most surprised by measuring retweets by the type of content:
- Boston Marathon Bombing - 700
- We found Bin Laden - 3k
- Picture of Obama and Michelle on relection - 752k
- Picture of Ellen, Brad Cooper et al at the Oscars - 3.3m

Support Computer Education in Washington State! Take a minute to fill out this petition to expand the availability of computer education in our schools and send it electronically to your congressmen.

"House Bill 1813 offers a comprehensive solution: it establishes education standards for computer science and matches private funding to train teachers, who are critical to expanding access to this field - and prioritizes investments to reach underrepresented students first. Nine out of ten Washington voters support these proposals. The 1:1 private match requirement means the state's investment would be doubled, enabling every Washington school to teach computer science by 2025."

Introduction

I am a real estate, social media, SaaS and cleantech fanatic. I love building companies and working with hard working and innovative people.  Been in Seattle for more than 12 years before relocating from the frigid but intellectual East Coast.   Spent time in India doing public health work and clean energy in Chile.  Now I run product management at Market Leader which is the leading SaaS providers in real estate and ActiveRain which is the largest blogging network in real estate.

Fantastic experience with Gene. Needed a side mirror replaced. Gene recommended us to buy it ourselves online from eBay and then he installed at an hourly rate. Gave us a new customer discount. No hassle. No haggling. It was great. I wish all customer experiences could be so clean and straightforward.

Daniel Kalilsh and HKM are the must use employment attorneys for tech executives. I have worked with Mr. Kalish who has helped negotiate three employment agreements for me. He is sharp, astute and practical in terms of knowing what matters.
