Ever wonder what to do? Us too. We’re a scrappy group of Google engineers, united by a passion to help people discover and share stuff to do in the offline world. And we’ve built something to do just that—we call it Schemer!
Schemer is based on a simple yet powerful concept: schemes. A scheme is any activity you’d like to do. Here are a few examples created by our users:
* Play the big piano at FAO Schwarz
* Watch every movie made by Christopher Nolan
* Bike up to Hawk Hill at dawn to catch the sunrise
* Make genmaicha Rice Krispie treats
Found a scheme that you want to do sometime? Select “I want to do it” to save the scheme for later and let friends know you’re interested. Finished doing a scheme? Well done! Select “I’ve done it.” Schemer will record it in your list of accomplishments and other schemers will be able to learn from your experiences. Over time, Schemer will recommend new schemes tailored to your interests and help you do the things you want to do.
To help people get started, we’ve teamed up with some amazing accomplices who really know their stuff. We’re launching with schemes from:
* Entertainment Weekly
* Food Network
* GeekDad / GeekMom
* National Geographic
* Real Simple
* Rolling Stone
* Southern Living
* Time Out
* US Department of the Interior
Schemer is currently in beta and available by invite only. Think you’re up for it? Request an invite at www.schemer.com
and add us on Google+. Also, follow our partners on Google+ with the shared circle found below to get exclusive updates and invites to Schemer.
Inspire your friends and marvel at all of your accomplishments. Discovering new things to do and doing them just got a lot easier.
We can’t wait to see what you scheme up,
the Schemer team
