Hate it when you click on a shared news story in Facebook and it prompts you to install an application which shares everything you click on? Ye, me too. Here is the first version of 'Frictionless', a browser extension (chrome only atm) that rewrites all those links and opens the original article website, allowing you to read posts without broadcasting it to the world.

The 2.0 release will have a feature where you can mark any news article on any site as read and share it out back into Facebook. All opt-in, which is what, IMO, 'frictionless sharing' should have been. At least we can hack it in the way we want it to work :)
Introducing Frictionless: Taking the friction out of Facebook social sharing applications. 4th December 2011 #. Today we are launching Frictionless, a browser extension (chrome only at the moment) tha...

A Warning: The new Google +1 extension for Chrome and Internet Explorer sends information about every website you visit back to Google (along with your user ID information).

I immediately removed the extension, there isn't even a hint that it does this in the install.

Insane how easily and casually user privacy is abused.
