"It is jam packed with action and a lot of cool adventures that the characters go on, but the novel has a lot more depth than that. There is a little bit of romance and a lot of clever machinations, but once the novel sinks its teeth into you, it doesn't let go until the very end! Highly recommended series, and this entry will more than live up to expectations!"

"Welcome back to the amazing sci-fi world created by Baibin Nighthawk and Dominick Fencer. The second book in the The Dhungwana Chronicles (2117-3451) delivers the same level of anticipation and thrill. Teiresias Centaurus 3047 is the third book I have read by the amazing duo and I am blown away every single time. I look forward to an intense and thrilling read as the sci-fi concepts are taken to the next level with an emotional reunion with the return of fan favourite characters from part 1. Once again, Baibin Nighthawk and Dominick Fencer have delivered an amazing combination of science fiction, adventure, romance and action that will have you on the edge of your seat."

In Teiresias Centaurus 3047: The Dhungwana Chronicles (2117-3451) Part 2 by Baibin Nighthawk and Dominick Fencer, almost a complete millennium has passed since the attempted human rebellion in Dhungwana. Dhungwana, which was the last habitable section of Earth, has been rendered hostile to human life as a result of the brutal effects of an earthquake. In a bid to continue domination over and experiments on the human race, the Ikhal moved a carefully selected and memory-wiped group of humans to a new planet called Teiresias Centaurus. Here, even more than before, everything is controlled by the Ikhals, including education, marriage, reproduction, life purpose, aging, and even death. With lessons learned from the 2117 rebellion and through continuous DNA manipulation, the Ikhals have created a perfect submissi...

Niamey, a former French colony, had been the capital of Niger since 1926. The city was built along the banks of the river of that name, in a region dominated by the cultivation of peanuts. Among the countries with the lowest GDP per capita in the world and an economy primarily based on sheep farming and subsistence agriculture, Niger also held the record for the world’s hottest climate.

While in the taxi, Mark observed the dusty roads that from the plane had encircled the green banks of the river like an intricate, ocher web, creating a dynamic and abstract landscape. Yet the streets were anything but a work of art: chaos, waste and a human magma bustled around the perimeter of the city that was impenetrable on foot.
Modern buildings of dubious taste shared space with crumbling tin shacks, but it was the red scorched earth that ruled the roost.

The official language was still French, despite Hausa being the most widely used language, especially in trade, a sign that the colonial era had unified the country’s communications by force, imposing a new imprint for future generations.

Adrian hadn’t had time to find accommodation for Mark, especially as, for safety reasons, they couldn’t stay in the same hotel. In fact, it was more prudent not to use hotels at all as they were limited in number and easily controllable.
Mark asked the taxi driver to take him to the Université Abdou Moumouni. When they arrived, he gave it a quick glance, and then told the driver to cross the river and to show him the European districts of the city.

After a couple of hours he spotted a residence from which Western businessmen entered and exited. In fact, it was a residence that rented apartments to private companies that used them as a guest house.

Two studio apartments were still available, both with air conditioning and satellite television. Mark decided to rent one by the week.
His accommodation was on the third and highest floor. Looking through the windows, he saw it was really true that the red earth dominated this city. The fact there were modern buildings or suffocating traffic didn’t change anything, the red earth was everywhere and even found its way between your teeth.

Adrian would be back in a couple of days, so the only thing Mark could do was become familiar with the city and try to discover whether, in the outskirts of the capital, there was a small airport or airfield where he could find a Cessna. Adrian had mentioned the possibility of Mark temporarily becoming a flying doctor as Mark had over ten years experience as a pilot.

At 20.00 local time Mark felt exhausted: the city's air was heavy due to the 95° F heat and humidity of around 90%, so as he didn’t feel like eating, he prepared only a fruit salad.

At 22.00 Mark finally finished the letter to his friend Pavel, the very same letter he had never managed to finish in Mali; he sat down on the sofa and began to flip through TV channels. He ended up falling asleep in an awkward slump after just a few minutes.

Dust, the smell of earth and smoke filled the air, dead bodies lay everywhere, and militiamen fired machine guns wildly in the streets. How could it be so hot in Mogadishu? Everything seemed to decay so quickly, turning into a foul-smelling slime.

Motionless, Mark pressed hard into a wall for cover, trying to figure out what he could do as he watched the Black Hawk helicopter being consumed by fire beneath its juddering turbine while the crew, who had barely survived the impact and the bullets, screamed in pain.

He had combed the entire city but couldn’t find his father, maybe he was one of those dead bodies sprawled at the side of the roads, but he couldn’t face rolling them over one by one.

Suddenly he heard an incredulous and excited voice, coming from the radio of a US military Humvee, repeating: “The Super 6-1 is down! Again, Black Hawk has been shot down, the Super 6-1 is down!”
Mark leaned over the wall and saw Colonel Reed and his son Richard in the Humvee. They were taking pictures of the scene, going fast past the helicopter without providing any assistance.

When the turbine quit, from the right side of the aircraft a bloodied man pushed himself out through the wreckage, staggered a few steps, then fell to the ground in a pool of blood and remained there motionless. It was only by endlessly ‘rewinding’ and attentively analyzing the scene that Mark realized the man was his father.
Savannah awoke with a start, covered in sweat.

Finding himself sitting on the couch instead of lying on his back, he gasped for breath; he was suffering from hypoxia because of an episode of sleep apnea, it had left him with a sore hand. He consciously relaxed his still clenched fist and shook his fingers free.
At 02.00 he got up and went to bathe his face; and then, with an unquiet heart, he looked across the city: darkness and traffic, the noise of the chaos that set itself up as judge of the night while dawn remained distant.

He lay down again, but this time in bed. He listened idly to the ticking of an old clock that marked the passing of time, filled with the sensation that he lived to a quite different beat; he was distracted from his thoughts by the air conditioner, which now exuded a smell like a wet dog. Mark stopped thinking that things couldn’t get any worse: he knew that if he continued, he risked ending up in a place even more of shithole.
