A Blog post on my updated #photography  backup and archive process .... despite the simplistic nature I'm quite happy with the whole process and the protection it provides ....

Lol .. just been told off by the school teacher in the #Birds4All Community .... sorry but don't need that kind of aggro ... perhaps I should have just added .. photo taken on planet earth .... that's a location right? ..... It does make me laugh how certain people love to get on their high horse and police their little insignificant corner of the internet ... ... what difference does a random location make to a photo ....  Instant unsubscribe from the community .... life's too short to worry about people like that .... I expect to be given 100 lines next ....

by the way I wrote the above post sitting on my seat, behind my desk, in my lounge, in my house, on a street, in a village, close to a town, a bit further from a city, in the uk, which is in Europe which also just happens to be on planet earth .....

Greylag Goose

Simple composition, complete with full reflection (which wasn't easy on an 800mm lens - was actually waiting on Kingfishers to show) ... Situations like this quite often arise in Wildlife Photography where your intended subject is late (or in this particular case decides not to show) .... Keep your eye out for other opportunities, even if you think the subject may be common or, dare to say it, boring ...

#Question   .. in compositional terms, is it best to have the subject looking left or right across the frame?

The Escape

While no where near the peak of the fighting that I witnessed just a few weeks ago the peace is still shattered from time to time if the males get a little too close to each other ... here the one on the left beats a hasty retreat. I just love the patterns the water has made as the birds fight.

Lapwing in Flight (Vanellus vanellus)

I love to watch these birds. Their distintive call and barrowling flight certainly brightens up any morning.  Here we have one displaying the beautiful colours on the body and wings illuminated by the early morning sun.

Wildlife, Landscape and Sports Photographer .. oh also an Ultra Runner
Introduction
First and foremost I'm a geek. And dam proud of it :)

Photography - Canon shooter with a passion for the natural world, sports and landscape photography. I'm also starting to grow to love the power behind iPhone photography, especially with editing and sharing on the move. How long will it be before we get something similar in a DSLR?

Running ... longest so far is 70 miles .. seem to be most comfortable around the 50 miler mark. Will attempt the 100 one day :)

I'm still attempting to see how I can combine both passions as quite often when I'm out on the trails I find a spot which would make a beautiful image, or when I'm out with the camera I realise it would be pretty cool to have run to that point.
