Lessons from Choosing Less: Practicing Using Zero-Waste Alternatives
Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better, and your better best! Package free, plastic free lunch! I learned this little sing-song rhyme about a decade ago when I was reading  a book by Elizabeth George. She didn't claim to have made ...

Week One - Project 333 & Happy New Year!
Hmm... maybe it's the lighting in my room. My photos are all pretty grainy. Oh, well. I've got too many other things I want to do rather than editing photos all day. So here is my first week (I started a day late, hence the 6 photos) of Project 333 and I'm ...

SSASS in the New Year: Thrifty Goodness and Second-Hand Style
I love this time of year. It's not just because Christmas is an important holiday in the Christian calendar, but also because it never fails to give me pause for reflection and think about ideas for the coming twelve months. I know that not everyone gets in...

Magic Cake and a Blue Thread
Craving color, I've added a third project to my summer knitting. I made myself knit to a certain part of my navy blue (Taking) Forever Birthday Sweater and then I purchased Paula Emons-Fuessle's Magic Cake Ruffle Shawl . It's a simple pattern that uses up y...

Imagining June 2015::A Month Map
Oh, this is going to be fun! Summer break is here, though it's still very much spring in these parts: kind of cool and lots of rain! May was a wet one this year; we'll have to see what June brings. In Internet Land, June brings Daisy Yellow's, " Index Card ...

Learning: Experiments with Capsule Wardrobe - January
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that taking a picture of yourself every day can be very revealing. As I mentioned on my Instagram feed, I am not a huge fan of taking selfies... and certainly not every day! But my aim at the start of this project was to pos...

Winter 2016 Capsule Wardrobe
Who knew that trying to create a capsule wardrobe could take all day? Well, it has taken just about that, but I am done now and here are the results for my Project 333 undertaking: Aaaaand... it's 32 items pictured here. Lol. I am NOT going to try to figure...

Gee, could you tell? :) Wow; I am finding there's really only so much social media a person can handle! I'm just loaded down with school assignments - my own and home school stuff. No time for blogging right now. I am spending the little bits of free time I...

Introduction
I am a happily married, homeschooling mother of two high school girls. Moved back to Minnesota after an 8-year "explore" in Florida. I am currently a student,studying Library Information Technology, because I think libraries are one of humankind's greatest inventions! An ISFJ, I love to think, plan and make lists, savor the seasons and enjoy the flavors of a plant-based diet. My relationship with Jesus keeps me grounded and lifts me high all at the same time. I write about all of that, plus some knitting and art too at my blog, my home online since 2006: Golightly Place!
