I can only congratulate the BBC Director-General for his integrity:

"For me a line has been crossed," Hall continued. "There cannot be one rule for one and one rule for another dictated by either rank, or public relations and commercial considerations."

Here's what the investigation found:

Mr Tymon took himself to hospital after he was subject to an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack".
"During the physical attack Oisin Tymon was struck, resulting in swelling and bleeding to his lip. The verbal abuse was sustained over a longer period, both at the time of the physical attack and subsequently."
The verbal abuse "contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack" Mr Tymon, who believed he had lost his job, Mr MacQuarrie noted in his report.
The "physical attack lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness," he added.
The BBC has decided not to renew Jeremy Clarkson's contract as co-host of the popular program Top Gear after an investigation into an 'fracas' with a producer.

My little rant on rumours.
As I go through the Feedly and where it's page on page of "the next nexus is going to be..." it's really REALLY annoying.

So much web traffic devoted to someone's 'best guess' and then it gets highly proliferated out there in the interwebz as 'fact'.

And then next week someone will have a different guess, and we repeat it all over again.
So, in the past week, I've heard rumours that Huawei and then LG were to make the next Nexus device, and prior to a couple weeks it was LG again, and then others are rumoured about this maker, or about that one. Can we just s...

SIM card manufacturer Gemalto has said that its SIM products are secure despite reports that US and UK spy agencies had stolen the encryption keys. The company, which produces around 2 billion SIM...

If you're considering adding a GTX 960 for Folding@home and wondering what its numbers are, here's an example:

Gigabyte GTX 960 WindForce 2X OC

PPD: 170000
Temp: 64 C
Noise: Very quiet. I can only hear the other video card.

This is a secondary GPU, so no graphics are rendered on it.

This is why we need strong public news organizations like the +CBC News .

The Globe and Mail's James Bradshaw reports that Bell Media President Kevin Crull banned CTV media properties from including CRTC Chair Jean Pierre Blais in coverage of the recent TalkTV decisions. The report indicates that Crull ordered the head of CTV News to stop including Blais in coverage following an interview on BNN, which led to the cancellation of an interview with Don Martin and dropping him from local news stories (he was included in t...

Oh god please let this not be the new Pebble.
Pebble is a day away from making a big announcement, and it looks like that may be a brand new smartwatch. 9to5Mac reported on Friday that a slimmer Pebble with a color, "e-paper-like" display is...

Longest week.

" The new watch is said to (finally) gain a slightly wider, color, e-paper-like display"

"the new watch will still include battery life specifications in line with the current models [...] also includes a microphone"

"[The OS has been] redesigned from the ground-up to be “dramatically different” by the team behind webOS."

These are rumors so take it in with a heavy pour of salt, but this could be really good.
Pebble updated its website this morning to tease a new model of its popular smartwatch. The announcement is scheduled for 10 AM on Tuesday next week, but Pebble has not specified what exactly is la...

Great setting. Very cheap for the quality of drinks and food. Professional staff. If you are looking for a nice patio to spend the night with friends in Mississauga, look no further.

The best place for electronic music in Toronto, period. CODA is the new Footwork. It's a place for true electronic music lovers. Here, I've seen and heard names like Josh Wink, Ricardo Villalobos, Adriatique, Sasha, Solomun, Ida Engberg, Adam Beyer, Art Department, Ten Walls and many, many more. The crowd is mature for its age and the vibe is amazing. The electric music culture runs as deep as the owners themselves, one of which plays himself. The staff is very friendly from the security to the bartenders - they treat you like a customer and a human being. If you love electronic music - you should visit CODA.
