One of the ideas from Robustness:
.
Experiment with foods to find out what works best for you. If you read research on nutrition you'll likely find it confusing because some say avoid saturated fats, others say avoid proteins, and of course some say avoid sugar completely. Well if you follow them all you are left with nothing edible. If we instead take the approach of balance, tuning to more of one thing, less of another, you can experiment in some way you can prove or disprove your hypothesis with either how you feel, energy levels, or measuring things like cholesterol, blood pressure etc. One test I am doing this month is eating without gluten and can attest that flours made with other grains work pretty good on cakes!

Celebrated the final weekend of the Tour de France with a Tour of Lake Sammamish. Cycling is a sport you can practice year-round, but it is especially easy during summer months. Ground tends to be dry and you need no extra layers to keep you warm. For the best results, put a couple of hills or sprints on your path to alternate endurance (aerobic effort, your heart loves it) and strength (anaerobic effort, your body adapts to higher intensities). Some recent studies indicate that combining these two types of efforts also strengthens your DNA. But as importantly, find a sport you love!
