I was told that if you eat from a certain kind of berries that you find in Patagonia, then you are bound to return. I immediately rushed to eat some of them.

These photos were taken during my second visit to Iran, in April/May 2007, to attend a conference in Isfahan. I would like to express again my deep gratitude Prof. Zafarani, who organized the conference, for his warm hospitality, and Payan and Layla, who helped us appreciate their beautiful country.

I visited Taiwan from September 2007 through January 2008, as a visitor of the Department of Mathematics, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung. I have fond memories from every country that I visited for an extended period, but somehow Taiwan is the dearest of all. I suppose that this is due to the politeness and the warm personality of the people I met there. Anyway, this album is a small tribute to the beautiful island, l'isla Formosa.

I visited Isfahan (or: Ispahan) in Iran on the occasion of a workshop organized by Professor J. Zafarani. Besides attending a very good workshop, I had the opportunity to visit this magnificent place with Mr. Amini, a student who was our guide (thanks again Mr. Amini!), Professor L.J. Lin, and my sister. The photos below are just a remembrance of these magical moments.
