Interesting material. Could possibly be improved by wrapping in cling film.

Why do I work indoors? (Apart from the obvious clumsiness and general lack of fitness).

To celebrate International Mountain Day we’d like you to tell us which mountain or hill you most enjoy exploring? We're particularly fond of the Langdale area of the Lake District!

Rest in peace Nick Talbot (Gravenhurst). I can't believe it. 7 years younger than me. New (well, unreleased tracks) album only came out this week.

Missing for 6 Months: Black and White, male, neutered cat. Very pretty, slim build.

Surprised to see these while cycling today. (Shouldn't be, as they're only a few miles from the BBC Monitoring Station).

Peaceful. (Unless you were there during the Reformation).

Monday morning moment of peace: Fountains Abbey

For centuries people have been drawn to this inspiring place. From humble beginnings the magnificent abbey was established by devout monks seeking a simpler existence. The atmospheric ruins that remain are a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world. Riverside paths lead to the deer park, home to Red, Fallow and Sika deer and ancient trees; limes, oaks, and sweet chestnuts.One-of-a-kind, this special place is now recognised as a World Heritage Site: http://bit.ly/1sPfgfo

The only real bike store around these parts that I've found so far. Good selection of road gear to ogle upstairs. The only place I'll let work on my bikes. (I've had a couple of headsets fitted and seized seat post removed). As with all local retailers the range can be limited, but I've managed to get Sidi shoes, Campag gloves, an Elite turbo and Time pedals "off the shelf". Some of the younger staff may not have the greatest knowledge, but that's to be expected (the more senior staff more than make up for this. I'm also glad they employ local youngsters in the first place - we all have to start somewhere).
