Did you know that I'm doing another Edinburgh Festival Fringe show this year? Join me and my colleague Helen for our Statistical Accounts of Scotland #codi14  show on the outsiders, the outliers and the groups forgotten by most history books but captured in these brilliant tomes. And help us plot how we'd build a modern Statistical Account - who we'd need to include, what we would record, etc. Read more here: http://nicolaosborne.blogs.edina.ac.uk/2014/07/28/tickets-now-available-for-our-fringe-show-what-skeletons-are-in-your-closet/ and book tickets here: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/what-skeletons-are-in-your-closet

Interesting. Certainly in the UK it can feel like iPlayer and Netflix own TV, although their viewing figures are still dwarfed by broadcast. Surely the current limitations around cable and broadband infrastructure providers/contracts in the US provides some serious challenges now (let alone moving forward) to the dominance of internet as delivery mechanism?

I wrote up some thoughts on the future of television (and how it dovetails with the future of video on the web).
