G+ General Help  -

I'd like to get a vanity URL for https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/114787682678537396870/114787682678537396870/about, and G+ offers "+ PaperhiveOrg". How can I have this changed to "+ PaperHive"?

Google+ stories is awesome!
The picture selection that Google offers me to include in the story is a little narrow though. Is it possible to select other pictures from Google+ as well?

Vim extension find of the year: Syntastic https://github.com/scrooloose/syntastic.

Together with Flake8, can be employed to do on-the-fly PEP8 checking in Python http://paulfurley.com/python-pep8-style-guide-checker-vim/.

What coding conventions do developers actually stick to?

Sep 20, 2013 added coding convention for C#. Phil Haack help to add this convention by writing C# convention guide. Thanks Phil. Aug 12, 2013 added coding convention for Ruby. If there are something wrong in ruby convention or you want to see another coding convention Please leave issues on ...

Sorry yes I might be completely wrong here. I've only been following 10.1 for the S3 which failed around those dates.

Mixed flow/heat simulation for a cylindrically symmetric pot that is heated from below. Part of the lid is rotating.
The simulation is entirely done in FEniCS and involves a SUPG-stabilized P2+/P1 Navier-Stokes solver (split step), and a stabilized heat equation solver. A considerable amount of the simulation time is still spent at the construction of the Jacobian matrix for the nonlinear solve for the tentative velocity in the split-step method for Navier-Stokes.

This is the output of a computation of Navier-Stokes with the heat equation for modeling a heated (2D) ball in a closed box.

The material is water, and since water has very low thermal diffusivity, the convection will dominate the flow and introduce numerical difficulties. Although both heat equation and Navier--Stokes system are stabilized with SUPG, we see a bunch of artifacts popping up here and there. Not sure what causes the stir towards the end of the animation, but sure enough led to a break-down.

Anyways, I still thought this may be worth sharing.

Very interesting article about loop vectorization with GCC with some practical examples.
