Happy birthday, Dad.  Saying that you're the best is an understatement. :)

Quite a good speech, my wife and I watched and both picked out that same thin greasy layer in the core sample of future political scientists line.

We could use a couple of politicians like this here in the US.

Thanks for the post.

Primary school teachers! This is well worth a look and a few hours a week to participate!

At our Digital Technologies Curriculum Summit in 2013 we announced a partnership with the University of Adelaide to create a free open online course for primary school teachers to help prepare them for the implementation of the new digital technologies curriculum in Australia which will have compulsory computational thinking & coding from K-8.

Here's the direct link to the course - https://csdigitaltech.appspot.com/course

Feel free to sign up and share as appropriate.

3D printed Hybrid Robotic Exoskeleton? Hell yeah!

http://www.3dsystems.com/press-releases/3d-systems-prints-first-hybrid-robotic-exoskeleton-enabling-amanda-boxtel-walk-tall

"3D Systems, in collaboration with Ekso Bionics, has created a 3D-printed robotic exoskeleton that has restored the ability to walk in a woman paralyzed from the waist down. The Ekso-Suit was trialled and demonstrated by Amanda Boxtel, who was told by her doctor that she'd never walk again after a skiing accident in 1992. 'Designers from 3D Systems scanned her body, digitizing the contours of her spine, thighs, and shins, a process that helped them mold the robotic suit to her. Then they combined the suit with a set of mechanical actuators and controls made by EksoBionics. ... One problem that the designers faced in this case was that a paralyzed person like Boxtel often can't know that bruising is happening because she can't feel it. That's dangerous, Summit said, because undetected bruises or abrasions can become infected. "So we had to be very careful with creating geometry that would dodge the parts of the body that it had to dodge...[designing] parts that wouldn't impede circulation or cause bruising.""

+Nicky Ringland I was strong and took audio most of the way...then I ran out of the room gasping for air. Fantastic concept..she is "heel and toe" walking (a complex neurological event)...and she is not screaming "shut the M'kay up" to the spirits soaring voice over or music. Thanks.
