It was a big year for us - in 2018:
• Confirmed the appointment of Melanie Berry as Recruitment Consultant
• Welcomed Akhona Skeyi, our HR Intern, a BA Hons Industrial Psychology graduate
• Added Think Big HR, under the guidance of Barbara Northmore – with her extensive HR Management career, she offers our clients an HR service by the hour, by the day, on retainer or once off, for advice, or for a specific project
• Conducted two head-hunting projects for clients
• Delivered a CV Writing & Interview Skills training workshop to UCT Law students – this can be adapted to suit internal staff going for a promotion, or facing retrenchment, as well as for Hiring Managers, with a bigger focus on Competency Based Interviewing skills
• Further developed our trusty recruitment database
• Attended the
- Greg Savage Recruitment Sales Masterclass
- Flux Trends Transhumanism presentation
- Launch of the SheSays Cape Town chapter

Looking forward, our goals for 2019:
• To appoint a Recruitment Consultant on the ground in Johannesburg
• Launch of our recruitment blog
• Develop our HR Consulting and Training work
• Continue to develop our network of like minded Recruitment agency connections, so we can offer our clients access to even more strong candidates
• Actively seek out and engage additional/ new clients so we can offer our candidates more opportunities
• Continue to have fun on a daily basis

Thank you for your part in our journey this past year, we look forward to working with you again in 2019, and wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous year

Recruitment is always very rewarding, but it can be tough too, and so, during the break, I like to go over our stats for the year - it’s refreshing to take a step back and see that it wasn’t always as challenging as it might have felt!

Our clients and our candidates trust us to impact their businesses, teams, clients, careers, personal lives and families and it’s good to be reminded of the value we add and the change we can effect.

And I know many of you like to see the year in numbers too, so here’s what 2018 had in store:
• 112 vacancies worked
• 70 job adverts placed
• 815 ad responses managed – 640 rejected, 175 considered
• 433 new direct candidates
• 203 recruiter interviews
• 202 CVs sent out
• 137 client interviews
• 32 placements including 7 contractors (conversion rate of 3,5:1, consistent with previous years, and higher than the industry norm of 4:1)
• 25 new clients engaged via word of mouth/ referrals
• 42 client meetings held
• 328 days – longest time to fill – now that’s tenacity
• 7 days – shortest time to fill
• 36 days – average time to fill
• 5 candidate fall-offs in the first 3 months – 1 to emigration, 2 to fit (culture/ location), and only 2 candidates deemed not suitable by the client
• 2 offers refused – 1 to multiple offers, 1 to financials

This is such a great opportunity for a Junior Designer or Draughtsperson to join a recognised brand, with all the corporate bells and whistles. Call me if you fit the brief
