Had a blast talking with +Tom Webster on this week's episode of the #OnBrandPodcast. We talked about the latest research he's been working on as well as an idea he introduced on how what we're really doing today is "co-creating" brands with our audience. One of my favorite parts of this show is getting to talk to smart folks like Tom about smart things. Enjoy! #branding #brands
Tom Webster of Edison Research spends his time carefully examining the relationship between brands, their customers, and the media landscape.

I had a blast on this week's #OnBrandPodcast with +Daniel Rowles, the author of Digital Branding and Mobile Marketing. Like me, Daniel’s also a university lecturer. Unlike me, Daniel is British, which means he sounds even smarter. In all seriousness, he talked about how digital isn’t really a channel. It’s the sum of your online brand touchpoints. Enjoy!
Don’t think of digital as a channel — it’s the sum of all touchpoints.” Great insights and more from Daniel Rowles on this episode of the On Brand podcast.

The day after the #SuperBowl  madness, it's pretty obvious that marketers and brand builders can get easily distracted. How can you stay focused on what matters most in an era of big data, drones, and 3D printing? +Mitch Joel breaks it down on this week's episode of the On Brand podcast. Enjoy! P.S. Let us know what you think with an iTunes review!
“Brands are being distracted by drones, 3D printing, and big data.” This and more from digital thought leader Mitch Joel on this week's On Brand podcast.

We wanted to close-out the first month of the new On Brand podcast by introducing a new feature. A month-in-review show where we look at the biggest stories in the brand zeitgeist. This month we focused on the personal brand shifts in late night TV, the big month that the Iowa brand has had in the media (The Bachelor, Girls, #breadbags) and some fun branded content from Poo-Pourri. I'm joined by a new special contributor to the show that many of you know — +Meghann Foster.

People talk all the time about "living the brand" but what does this really mean? Recently, I had chance to ask someone on the #OnBrand podcast who works for one of the most unique and socially responsible brands out there — +Ben & Jerry's.  Mike Hayes is the man behind the brand online but he's also steeped in their culture. Fun fact: he actually shared a cubicle with Jerry when he started (yes - THAT Jerry). Enjoy this week's episode!
Mike Hayes began his career at Ben & Jerry’s sharing space with Jerry himself, the company’s co-founder, and he's been living the brand ever since.

Another fun podcast update to share ... Each week I record a radio show at KXIC on the latest social media news, trends, and tips. We're adding these weekly "Social Sound Bites" to the On Brand podcast feed to provide a little snack before next week's show. This week: 2015 Social Media Predictions. Enjoy! (And take a sec and subscribe, rate and review the show if you wanna help a podcaster out on this snowy Friday.)
On this week's Social Sound Bite – recorded live at the KXIC studios in Iowa City, Iowa – Jay and I discussed a few of the prominent 2015 social media predictions and digital marketing trends to keep an eye on.

This week on the On Brand podcast a guest actually said ... "I don't particularly love the term — branding." When you think about it (hello - burning your mark into a cow??) the current definition is in need of a disruption. Jason Baer (not to be confused with Jay Baer) has helped brands like Hulu disrupt the marketplace. We also discussed the roll that leaders play in building brands. Enjoy!

This week's episode of On Brand brings a master class on personal branding from the one, the only Bryan Kramer. You won't want to miss this. A great chat on what it takes to make a personal brand and why focus is your friend. Enjoy!
As a leading social media influencer, Silicon Valley CEO, and TED speaker, Bryan Kramer knows a thing or two about personal branding.

Alright. The Super Bowl game may be over but the ad debate rages on. Here are our best picks from the night. Hint: My pick is related to the damn song I can't get out of my head now ... BIG thanks to Macy Koch, Dean Westergaard, Sara O'Brien, Sarah Moy, Kary Delaria, Angie Cottrell and  Meghann Foster for doing some thinking and writing while watching the game!
The Super Bowl also provides an opportunity for brands to face off. Let's take a look at the best (and a couple of the worst) Super Bowl ads from 2015.

This week on the #OnBrand  podcast we were joined by Ashley Butler of +Chobani who took us behind the scenes of one of my favorites brands. Enjoy! (Remember - we launched last week with three more great episodes to download and checkout.)
