From my walk this morning. There's nothing better than a quiet spring day.

Great news today. The Petrie building in downtown Guelph is to be purchased by developer Tyrcathlen Partners and restored. I know that this means there will be a trendy restaurant at street level and likely to have lawyers offices above, but I don't care! Anything to save this beautiful facade from eventual decay and collapse.

Possibly my favorite structure of downtown Guelph, Ontario.

+Patton's Army just listened to Delirium Cordia all the way through this morning and was startled at the last 4 seconds. Lol, I guess it's been a while since I listened to the entire album.

Introduction

Architecture | Music | Concerts | Comedy | Games | Technology | Space | Transportation | Photography | Android

Hi, I work in the Architecture field as a technologist. I started using CAD and other computer design programs at young age. I think the first one was Logo Writer when I was about 6. I've been using AutoCAD and Photoshop for the better part of my life and probably know less about them than I should considering the hours invested. Some other applications I use on a regular basis are AutoDesk Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Dreamweaver and Adobe Illustrator.

I enjoy many types of music; Industrial, electronic, punk, metal, avant-garde and classical. I love buying vinyl records, CDs and cassettes. Some of my favourite bands include:

The Melvins, Uz Jsme Doma, Sonata Arctica, Sinister Trailerpark Magic, Ween, Aphex Twin, Man Man, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Skeleton Key, Amon Tobin, Mike Patton, (u) the band, Tub Ring, Super 8 bit brothers.

I probably spend way too much money going to concerts, but hey you have to do what makes you happy.

More recently I've been going to comedy shows. In the past few months I've seen Larry Miller, The Sklar Brothers, Doug Benson and Adam Carolla.

I think my idea of an ideal day is to walk around a new city or town. Take hundreds of pictures then end up at restaurant with a patio and delicious beer on tap.

I'm by no means a big-time gamer, but there are a few games I do play regularly (and still manage to completely suck at them), they are:

1. Civilization

2. Minecraft

3. Sins of a Solar Empire

4. Need For Speed (whatever is the latest version)

5. Galactic Civilization

6. Anno 2070

Oh yeah, I absolutely love playing Settlers of Catan (the board game). I'm not all that great at the digital version.

In 2010 I got myself a pretty nice camera (Olympus E-PL1) that I try to use on a daily basis. Check out my photos, they're mostly  landscapes and some random stuff thrown in for good measure. Currently I am shooting on an Olympus OM-D, Olympus OM 10, Minolta SR-T 101, Recesky DIY TLR & Galaxy Nexus mobile phone.

Nice decor, but showing it's age. I don't think they've painted since it's last renovation. The food was sub-par considering the price. The chef was clearly going for visual presentation rather than taste or texture. The Korean BBQ with pork belly was pretty unfortunate; dry and overly fatty that was nearly impossible to cut with the blemished silverware provided. I was there with a group of 10, our last guest showed up late. However it still took over 90 minutes to be served out meals. Some errors with the bills that did not get fully resolved and favoured the restaurant, one error with one meal. The other thing that bothered me about this '$800 minimum party room' was the dusty chandeliers. Enough dust, that when the crystals swayed you could see the dust falling on the table where we ate. This place needs an overhaul; fresh paint, full cleaning, repairs to the dented walls and loose baseboards, also new cutlery wouldn't hurt either.

Rarely have I had a such an emotional reaction to artwork. Seeing Dali's masterpieces in person was a truly singular experience.

Unfortunately I was only there for the cheapest amplifier they sell, it's a shame cause I would love to spend thousands on a new hi-fi! Friendly helpful staff, nice display areas and good sales.

I've only been once to buy meat pies but I was immediately struck by the variety of hard to find and imported treats. The meat pies were excellent and so was the service. Be sure to get there early if you are counting on buying a certain type of pie because everything is made fresh and are sometimes in limited quantities.
