Steve created a user research for some more input in how people use the #Xfce session manager.

Yesterday one of the Xfce server was taken offline. The university of Stockholm did no longer want to support the #Xfce and #Lunarlinux projects, which they supported for many years.

The machine was only used as a download mirror and buildbot system.
Although there are not a lot (5) of download mirrors at the moment, the ones we have are good and reliable, however the #buildbot will be a miss eventually.

So if anyone is interested in maintaining this and has the hosting capability for this (our servers used for hosting have no visualization), let me know!

Managed to get the  #Xfce   #bugzilla  installation working with PSGI/Plack together with  #starman . We'll have to see how stable this runs, but its a lot faster for sure instead of the default cgi setup.

There is a GIT mirror of the Xfce repositories on Github! When a change is pushed, the repository will be created/mirrored on Github automatically.

This is only for people to make contributing easier (forking); issues and the wikis are disabled. Same goes for merge requests; those will be ignored.
It is also a backup for us (eventually).

A number of people have replied for additional server capacity to start a new #Xfce buildbot setup. Thanks for that! Best option is to pick one for a buildmaster + slave (single vm) where others can hook up to setup / maintain their own buildslave.
I probably get to that in a couple of months, unless someone volunteers to set this up (I have to master.cfg from the old server).

Donations is another topic for which we require a foundation, something that's been stalled for some time now... So be patient.

FWIW, there is another rather easy and quick to setup way to receive a specific sort of donations, which would be through bug bounty. I've recently written a proposal for this for Xubuntu, but basically all of it also applies to Xfce, so just s/Xubuntu/Xfce/
Since people like +Christian Dywan are using this system successfully, I had enough trust in it to spend the time on writing things up :)

PS: Obviously ppl can't force developers to implement something by paying for it, it's still up to the maintainers what patches they merge.

Since hub projects are removed from Transifex, I've updated the setup to align with the new organization and translation teams.

Modified the #Xfce git setup to allow the creation of user repositories. This should make it easier to accept new developers without granting "upstream" permissions directly.

Well they are are reparated repositories, so eventually the user branches are not visible in the "upstream" repo. http://git.xfce.org has a separate users section for them.

I've worked with +Thomas Molloy  on a settings UI for light-locker in #Xubuntu 14.04. Not sure it also works in other desktops, I guess that's for you folks to test/find out :)

Anyhow, after writing it all in a rush, we've released version 1.0 in time for Ubuntu's Feature Freeze (currently hoping someone will sponsor it after +Sean Davis has prepared the package).
If you want to try it, you can either
1) add the PPA (Trusty-only at the moment!): https://launchpad.net/~light-locker-settings-team/+archive/stable
or
2) grab the code from here (https://launchpad.net/light-locker-settings), navigate to the light-locker-settings directory and execute "python light-locker-settings.py"

Happy testing!
