A useful 10 point checklist of features and functionality for #travel  sites including reviews, predictive search and ability to save and share a shortlist.
The time between Christmas Day and January is peak holiday booking time, as anyone who saw an ad break on Boxing Day can probably attest to.

Some good stuff in here including this gem:

'Facebook and other social apps don’t pass along referrer data to analytics packages, so when a user visits a site from the Facebook mobile app, they are counted as a Direct visit rather than a Facebook referral'

Excellent Analysis of Where Big Publishers Get Their Traffic

http://www.definemg.com/facebook-google-publisher-traffic-analysis/ - the rise of Facebook's referrals since their timberline algo updates is fascinating, too.
Facebook and Google now constitute a traffic-driving duopoly, as our analysis found that 47% of all traffic in our network comes from these two sites.

#Facebook are releasing some nice functionality at the moment.

#CTA
Facebook officially announced the introduction of call-to-action buttons for pages, saying that the feature will roll out in the U.S. over the next few weeks and worldwide next year, although several page administrators already had access to the feature prior to the social network’s official announcement.

A useful checklist that helps confirm whether you are taking your  #CRO  seriously enough.

Twitter's not the only one Facebook is battling for control of news and content distribution. With Pages getting quieted down in the feed, Facebook wants to..

BT should be in a powerful position if the deal concludes as the only UK company to own mobile masts as well as a significant broadband network.

Market trends mean analysts expect a wave of mergers combining mobile and broadband, cable and also pay television networks across Europe. On the continent, particularly in Spain, buying all these services together has been popular with cost-conscious households.

In the UK, Virgin Media has been trying for years, with limited success. Quadplay may take off first among those who wish to watch the pennies. But BT would not just be offering savings – it would own the two best telecommunications networks in the UK.

Could this see quadplay become a national pastime? It will be interesting to see!

'The best time to go for a walk is when you don't feel like it'.

Sage advice as always from +Seth Godin.
The best time is when you don't feel like it. Going for a walk when you don't feel like it will change your mood, transform your posture and get you moving. And if you don't feel like talking with someone,...

Introduction
With 16 years international sales and marketing experience within the digital marketing sector, I've been fortunate enough to have worked with organisations based throughout EMEA, the US and in Asia.

I've worked with both large multinationals and SMEs, across many different industry sectors developing and implementing digital communication and engagement strategies using a variety of channels including web, email, mobile, search and social.

Formally Consulting Manager across Europe, Middle East and Africa for DoubleClick and then based in Sydney Australia working for Vodafone developing their Mobile Advertising proposition, I moved agency side and worked with brands such as ING Direct and Discovery Channel Asia.

Following my entrepreneurial calling, I went on to set up digital marketing consultancy, The Orange Cow, working with clients such as Vodafone Australia, ING, 20th Century Fox and Nokia.

Having moved back to the UK in late 2009, The Orange Cow continues to grow and we now work with clients across the UK and Europe.

A bit of Spain in Bali...my only criticism - if one could call it that - is that they need to check some of their spelling 😉

Stayed in a beautifully quaint cottage not far from the coast for a recent family get-together. The team were really helpful when I booked as we had a couple of things that we wanted sorted ahead of our arrival, which the housekeeper duly had arranged. Would definitely recommend the company and their properties to anyone looking for a traditional country cottage in Dorset. Also if you're taking your pet along, be sure to ask the team about some of the best walks along the coast - many of them are dog owners so they know all the best ones!

Appalling experience! We were in town for the weekend visting some friends and went here having searched Google Local for somewhere in the area with good reviews. Interestingly the most recent review states the service 'was awful' but we chose to ignore it as all the others were so positive. Unfortunately, we experienced the same. Skina presents itself as a fine dining restaurant which is absolutely fine, but it most definitely does not have the customer service to match. We arrived and were presented with a a very limited fixed menu option. Given 1 of our party had allergies and 1 other did not want a full dinner we asked if they could so something different/smaller for 2 of our 6 person party. Not only did they refuse but were then rude to the point of swearing (!?) at us when we said we would have our drink and leave as it wasn't suitable for all our party. They were clearly upset at losing a 6 person table and proceeded to tell us to drink up and move on quickly, even after they'd charged us a ridiculous amount as a cover charge when we hadn't even eaten anything! Their whole attitude was just so amazingly shocking and wrong, I felt compelled to write a very detailed review to make people aware.

Lovely boutique guesthouse in Vejer de la Frontera old town. Beautifully done up with 3 very distinctive rooms each with their own character. Recommend the Hammock room with mezzanine level out to private terrace. Ideally located close to Plaza España as well. Definitely sample the breakfast with homemade bread, tomatoes and olive oil and fresh orange juice!
