I can totally see this being the way Kurt Cobain is welcomed to the Pearly Gates in the Spirit World.

"The greater our sorrow, the greater our capacity to feel joy." Just love that quote, and an image of a steel rose is extremely powerful. Brings me back to my time in the fire (assuming I'm in a cooling phase at the moment).

I really like this teaching!

Dear family and friends,

Want to get a jump on Christmas, save 25% doing it, and help me win an iPad?

As some of you know, I'm working a part-time job at +Deseret Book at the downtown SLC store across from Temple Square and next to City Creek Center. I've had a fun time meeting people from all over the world, and it's been good to have something to do while I try to find something more permanent.

My manager wants to finish August out strong, so he launched a FRIENDS AND FAMILY campaign for this week.. During the week, you can use the Friends and Family coupon below and receive 25% off your entire purchase.

Normally, we can only give immediate family a discount, and friends a discount off of one item, but for this week, we get to discount off the ENTIRE purchase! (There are some products we are not allowed to discount that are noted on the coupon.)

You can take advantage of this special offer as many times as you want during the week, you just have to print and bring in a new coupon each time.

This coupon is good only at my store—the one next to Temple Square and the City Creek Center in Salt Lake City. It’s not good in any of the other stores or for online orders. If you don’t live near the store, we can take your order over the phone and ship it to you (or the closest Deseret Book to you, for free).

Our manager has offered an iPad Air to the associate responsible for the most sales during this promotion (The promo code tracks your purchases back to me). I’d really like to win that iPad, so I’d appreciate anything you can do to help.

My manager told us there's no limit to the number of people who can use this coupon, so if you want to share with anyone, that'd be awesome. The coupon is attached, and you can either print it out, show it on your phone, or if you're ordering via phone, mention the promo code 099410.

Thanks for any support you can give me, and let me know if you need help with Christmas ideas or whatnot. We're the only store in all of Deseret Book that gets large quantities of product hand-autographed by the Prophet and the other Brethren, which make a great gift idea.

A not-so-reverent look at what #pioneerday means for #lds #mormon folk. Personally, I liked it. Thoughts?

Pioneer Day is a state holiday in Utah and a symbolic day for Mormons. But what does it symbolize?

"This is what happens when we don't pay attention."

Such a harrowing story. Graphic at times, but quality, must-read journalism.
For decades, dozens of men with intellectual disabilities lived in an old schoolhouse and worked in a turkey plant. No one knew just what they endured.

An interesting look at the impact of the increased amount of #lds #mormon sister missionaries on the Church.

I have mixed feelings on the article, and I'm trying to sort them out. I think much of it was spot on, while some of it missed the point.

What are your feelings after reading the article!

Regardless, looks like The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to be relevant.

A sharp rise in the number of female missionaries points to a fundamental shift for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
