Throwing away stuff you've had in boxes in storage, for years, is quite liberating.

Good!
Foursquare has confirmed that they plan to release a version of their Swarm virtual check-in app for Windows Phone "very soon", which should please many who have been waiting for the company to offer up this particular app for Microsoft's mobile OS. Foursquare made the decision earlier this year to release its check-in feature as a separate app called Swarm, but in May it only...

This is awesome! Although it would seem as we get more efficient, the idea of this power station falls flat.

Taum Sauk Hydroelectric Power Station, Missouri ... Amusing Planet -- "Hydroelectric power stations are typically located near water sources, or on the source itself, such as dams on rivers. But Taum Sauk Hydroelectric Power Station is located more than 80 kilometers from the nearest water source – the Mississippi river. Built on top of the mountainous St. Francois region of the Missouri Ozarks, approximately 140 km south of St. Louis near Lesterville, Missouri, the Taum Sauk Hydroelectric Power Station is a pure pumped-storage hydroelectric plant, designed to help meet peak power demands during the day. During periods of high electrical demand, water stored in a kidney-shaped reservoir on top of Proffit Mountain is released through turbines into a lower reservoir, two kilometers away, on the East Fork of the Black River. At night, when electrical demand is low, the excess electricity available on the power grid is used to pump water back to the mountaintop. In essence, the power plant functions like a huge battery, storing excess power until it is needed. ..."

Went in to get some lunch today and it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to figure out we were there. We ordered water, which took another 10 minutes for her to get, and then when she brought it to us, made the table all wet because she spilled it during her walk from the back to our table. When we finally got our food, it was alright, most likely because the cooks knew what they were doing, unlike the waitress. She never once asked us how the food was or came to check up on us. During the whole visit, we had to ask 4 other people to either refill our water or coffee, get us silverware, or get our check. This waitress was so bad we rounded our tip up to the next dollar to make her total tip between the both of us 88¢. This is the second time this has happened to us at this same restaurant.. so do yourself a favor and not give them any of your hard earned money.

I brought my 1997 Ford Taurus SHO in to be cleaned for carbon build-up in the intake manifold. I could have done it myself but I thought, "What the heck, might as well bring it to the pro's so it can be done right." Well, that's what I thought. I brought it in with the new gaskets in hand and when I got it back, after a closer look, I see they didn't even take my engine apart. So, I brought it back in and they insisted something was wrong when it wasn't. Finally, after 2 weeks of arguing to a service counter person, I got the manager to take care of it for me. From there, the situation was unclear and the next mechanic who worked on my car cleaned out part of my engine which wasn't supposed to be, and the gaskets weren't replaced either. From, there, all was made right and my car was cleaned. So, as long as you keep on them, they will do right.
