I'm having trouble with the new scripting feature. I REALLY want to get this going but am having trouble with what seems like it should be simple.

In the wiki section explaining how this new feature is to be used, it references being able to add watchmaker functions to the script and having them execute on tap action.

I need to make a tap area (invisible shape) to run the stopwatch start and stop as well as handle other functions. The wiki shows me this code "wm_action('sw_start_stop')" and I added it to the tap action -> run script. Is this right?

Either I am doing something completely wrong, or I don't yet understand where to put what. I am pulling my hair out trying to get this to work, and I figured I'd ask people smarter than I.

The NwD Sonic Speed Watch features a combination of low-def dot-matrix and 16-bit graphics.

Each minute Sonic will put on a little show. He runs around for 12 seconds collecting rings and then starts to pick up speed. At 53 seconds, the classic loop will appear for Sonic to run through and blast around the face until the minute is up when he skids to a halt and the clock resets.

Has a dim mode, so that's cool...

OTHER NEAT THINGS: Actual video game sprites used. The rings "sparkle" after Sonic grabs each one. The NwD logo makes a cameo in the spinning sign. All graphics (except sprites) were home-grown.

Sonic, the rings, loop and background have a gyro effect that looks best when strength is set to 100, set your frame rate to 50fps.

Sorry to anyone that tried to download this earlier, I accidentally put up an old / wrong version of this face with the wrong screenshot. Here's the real one.

Could someone please explain to me how the "Sleep" function works for scheduling animations. It doesn't seem to work how I think it should.

I thought I could use it to fire a function after a specified delay time.
But it requires two taps of my button that calls the function with the sleep action.

function delay()
wm_schedule   {
{action='run_function', run_function=thing1 },
{ action='sleep', sleep=1 },
{action='run_function', run_function=thing2 },
}
end

I thought that this would fire thing 1 and then wait 1 second before firing thing 2, but nope. I'm lost.

thank you. I was using functions because that's what I needed to be delayed. I thought that the sleep feature could delay a function. My mistake.

I am having a very strange issue with beta 4 (and I think it was happening on 3 too). I have a tap action set to call a function that is in the script file. It is fairly simple, it increments a variable and resets then starts the stopwatch. I have a MAX value, that when the increment reaches it, it sets it to 0. This works completely fine on the phone, but when testing it on the watch, it will not increment, it just resets the increment after one push. Its the craziest thing, because the phone and watch are behaving differently.

I have found out that sometimes, the lua script file is NOT transferring over to the watch. This is what is causing this strange issue.

Work In Progress. I originally shared the "NwD | VF" and had a few requests to make it round instead of the dumb MOTO flat spot. Well, I started to do this and then got carried away.

The top needle shows the watch battery life, the left needle shows the phone battery life. If the phone is charging, then the yellow flag appears.

The shadows on the hands are completely dynamic based on the X and Y axis of the accelerometer. They stretch, blur and rotate to give a somewhat realistic shadow look.

To open the secondary view, tap the 11.

All needles and clock hands rotate out of the way and then "dangle" based on the X axis of the watch's accelerometer.

Don't mind the "flat tire" from the MOTO, this was designed fully with the LG G Watch R in mind.

Inspired by the look and feel of VapingFuel.com, the "NwD VF" is a customizable watchface that you can tweak to suit your needs (to a degree).

:::FEATURES:::

The top needle shows your current watch battery life. Once the battery hits 50% you will see the wood will start to show as red, and at about 30% you'll get an even brighter red.

The needle on the left operates the same as the needle above, except that it displays your phone battery life. One extra thing about this area, is that when you are charging your phone, a yellow panel is displayed letting you know it's charging, while still showing the battery level.

The heart shows your current heart rate, and if you touch it, it launches the "Show My Heart Rate" app.

The current hour is highlighted by a slightly darkened wood panel for a quick glance.

:::NOTABLE DESIGN THINGS:::

The hands were inspired by the Ingersoll Gents Scott Automatic watch but were made with a semi-transparent insert giving the appearance of glass or crystal. The shadows on the hands are dynamic and show a slightly different shadow when cast upon the hands below as opposed to the shadow on the main face. The center rocker rocks and is cool looking. All wooden graphics are custom made from the main background image of VapingFuel.com

:::CUSTOMIZE:::

Included in the layers, you'll find an alternate NwD logo in case you just can't (or don't want to) display the official NwD Pinup logo. Just bring it above the main face layer.

Also included is a special recessed background area and accompanying curved text if you would prefer to display something other than the heart and heart rate (such as weather, or agenda etc.). Again, just kill or hide the heart layers and move these auxiliary layers above the main face layer.
