I was thrilled to participate in a wildflower-themed +Virtual Photo Walks™ today. It lasted about an hour or so, and we struggled a bit with the heat at times but there was plenty to photograph even over a very short period of time. View large!
This is simple blade of grass that I sprayed with a mist bottle, and crawled underneath it to have the blue sky refract inside the droplets. This is one of the few water droplet refraction images I've made using natural light, which was a necessary part of the equation - ambient light from the sky needed to fill in the droplets.
This is also 16 images focus-stacked together to increase the depth of field. This image was shot hand-held so there was some alignment and plenty of tweaking involved to get it looking it's best, but the editing time is well worth it.
I'll be sharing more images from the Virtual Photo Walk over the next few days. Thanks for making this possible, +John Butterill! Much appreciated.
