My favorite boots. 5 years ago I purchased this pair of White's Boots. At the time I thought they were an extravagant purchase. Over the last 5 years these boots have been one of the best investments that I have ever made to my wardrobe. Excellent quality boots and I still get tons of compliments.

A little more ice in my backyard. Murfreesboro TN.

This week we got a lot of sleet, rain, and snow just outside of Nashville, TN. This week I had the rare opportunity to do some personal photography. It is always really refreshing to get outside with my camera.

Taking a few photos on a snow day has really inspired me to want to do more personal projects. I have a laundry list of projects that I want to conquer in the coming months.

My favorite new thing in the photography world is Affinity Photo. The beta is amazing. The Affinity version of content aware fill is awesome. It opens files with blazing speed. The liquify tool is awesome. I love the overall interface. It has a few quirks that will take some getting used to, but I think after everything gets ironed out it will be a major competitor for Photoshop.

I have not upgraded Photoshop since I bought CS 5.5. The update to 6 was just too expensive for the level of improvement that it brought to the table. I never upgraded to Creative Cloud, because I dislike the concept of paying a monthly fee for photo editing software.

Affinity Photo offers 90% of what Photoshop does for a very affordable price. I'm really excited about the competition that this is going to bring to the market.

Visual history is a funny thing. It is as much about what you do see, as it is about what you do not see.

This is a Kinnard Ukulele that I commissioned last September. It is an amazing instrument. All walnut neck, top, back and sides, rosewood fretboard. Tenor size, with a radiuses fretboard. The fretboard is perfect, the frets are finished amazingly well, and the intonation is spot on. The tone is excellent, with a lot of sustain and warmth. The perfect instrument for campanella style playing.

Music has always had a deep and profound impact on my life. Last year I bought a cheap plastic ukulele for my daughter. Long story short, I fell in love with the Ukulele. This winter I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and found this amazing vintage Martin ukulele. This is a Martin Style O from the 1950s. It is quite beat up, but it has a real story to tell.
