Santiago Gonzalez, a 14-year-old kid in his 3rd year at Colorado School of Mines, was a finalist. My takeaway: Before you can teach someone something you have to help them want to learn it. The difference between Santiago and other kids is that he obsessively wants to learn and understand everything.
