James, thanks for the update. I was looking forward to Cubical Activism, but I admire you for 1) knowing when you've got too much on your plate and 2) for caring enough to not send out crap just because. I need to learn these 2 things myself. Looking forward to more Burning Questions!

I've never liked jargon and totally agree with Richard on this one.
Some people love speaking in jargon, using fancy words and turning everything into acronyms. Personally, I find this simply slows things down, confuses people and causes them to lose interest. It’s

Fascinating 5 Future Predictions. I hope they come true, they all would be pretty snazzy. Unless I decide to buy a hot dog when fueling up earlier than usual... http://sploid.gizmodo.com/five-surprising-things-that-will-happen-in-the-next-fiv-1484889836
IBM Research's 5 in 5 list—five things that will happen in the next five years—is here. Some are quite surprising and awesome. The bad news: no flying cars and/or realistic sex robots yet. The good news: doctors routinely using your DNA information to heal you effectively.

In the United States we are raised to appreciate the accomplishments of inventors and thinkers—creative people whose ideas have transformed our world. We celebrate the famously imaginative, the greatest artists and innovators from Van Gogh to Steve Jobs. Viewing the world creatively is supposed to be an asset, even a...

Cultural commentators and itinerant moaners have often complained that our obsession with taking pictures stops us from experiencing the moment, and now scientists are saying that our snap-happy habits may also be ruining our memory.

Great points about branding! Clients and creatives should read this one.

Long, but very thought-provoking and insightful read: Learning to See: http://ia.net/blog/learning-to-see/
Learning to design is learning to see, an adventure that gets more and more captivating the further you go. A love letter to my profession… Our mind is not a camera. Seeing is not a passive act. We

Instigator of Awesome!
Introduction

Hi, I’m Nick. I create awesome. I almost became a comic book artist but I found out quickly that I wasn’t very good at it. That’s when I discovered what I was really great at: graphic design. I‘ve been a graphic designer and illustrator since 1998 and I have been drawing in some capacity or another most of my life. Professional turn-ons include: working with small businesses, gourmet foodies, and local non-profits. I like to help folks with their graphic design, illustration, branding, art direction, and creative strategy needs. I’ve spent most of my career freelancing and building an in-house graphic design department from the ground up. Other things I love: illustrating my dreamlike ideas, photographing whatever captures my imagination, watching Netflix...and eating cookies. Don’t worry, I walk off the cookies on long hikes. I’d love to help you instigate your awesome. Let’s chat.
