If SOPA passes, it will destroy the Internet. That's not hyperbole, that's simple fact.

Please read this, and please make as much noise as you can about it: tell people, share this post, put it on your networks, and call your congressman and tell them in clear and simple terms that you want them to vote against SOPA.

As I did a combined Mathematics and Computing Science degree there are a number of areas of computing which I didn't have the chance to study at university as half of the time I was busy taking maths classes.

I've just enrolled in Stanford's first free online machine learning course taught by Professor Andrew Ng. Offering the course for free online is really awesome and I'm looking forward to starting!

Programming: somebody took the free online html version of SICP and reformatted it for Kindle. Already have the print edition but maybe I'll give this another read next time I'm on a long flight. :)

Good fun. :)
Many years ago, I watched a fantastic animated short by Jonas Geirnaert (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1539186/) called Flatlife (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408786/).

Every few years I get the rhythm of the introduction stuck in my head and I eventually feel compelled to search for it again. But I can never remember what it's called, other than starting with "Flat", which leads to some rather weird searches...

Anyway, here it is, so hopefully next time I'll remember to just search my G+ stream for the word "Flat" and will find it quicker:

Lots of awesome new features for the public beta launch.

Really excited about the addition of search. Already found a number of people talking about cool music I like. I'm sure this will make Google+ much more useful for following events and thus nurture even more great content and conversations.

Awesome HTML5 map of world migrations.

Would be cool if it could just show the last year or last 10 years though.

The new Amazon Windowshop iPad app is very slick. Somewhat dangerously the first time you buy something (taking a whole two clicks) it then informs you it has turned on one click purchasing to make it easier next time.

There is a web app too which looks very similar but is nowhere near as nice to use without being able to touch the screen.
