I was actually expecting Diz to really overpower Cassidy but in all honesty I think his performance fell really flat.  Cassidy had a much more controlled / confident presence and while some of his bars were a bit corny they were at least well delivered and without hesitation.

All-in-all, a good but not classic (IMO) battle.

Crowdsourcing - How Foursquare pulled off one of the most successful experiences in history.
Crowdsourcing is a word that many of us have heard but not everybody understands. Google defines it as [to] "obtain (information or input into a particular task or project) by enlisting the service...

Are you a software developer who has an existing application/product and wants to mobile-enable it without all of the hassle of having your own cloud-based API, writing native mobile applications, etc?

Our new product, Thingdom allows you to mobile-enable your software with only four lines of code. Download any of our libraries (C#, JS, NodeJS, PHP, etc), drop them into your project and you will be triggering push notifications, feed messages, and status updates right from your application.

Once your application has been "Thingdom Enabled" your users/customers can download the Thingdom application and always see what is going on using our slick mobile interface.

Some ideas for usage:
- Have a .NET app that does video processing? Add Thingdom feed/status updates whenever a run completes, or incrementally every 10%. If an error is encountered you can trigger a push notification right to the user so they immediately know to go and start the job again. You can even build in remote commands so that users can restart the job right from their phone.

- Have a front-end web application that collects data and submits via something like google forms? Drop in our JavaScript library and trigger feed messages/notifications whenever a form is submitted along with the data that was sent, never check the back-end again.

- Have a Node.js application and want to be able to send out push notifications or text alerts when an event happens? No problem! Install our module (using NPM) and you are off and running.

Thingdom was built FOR developers BY developers. We provide an API that gets out of your way and lets you code the way you want to. This is the first time I am sharing this on G+ so please leave comments, questions, etc. I am very excited about this product and will do everything in my power to help anyone who is interested in implementing it!

Great interview Chris! I always get a kick out of Shotty but I think a lot of people sleep on how calculated he is.  Hopefully the more of this side of him they see, the more they will realize that he isn't going anywhere.

I have been playing the role of DevOps quite a bit lately so hosting has been on my mind a lot. After two big migrations and one small migration in the last two months, I decided it was time to blog about hosting providers. I share my thoughts on the three hosts that I have the most experience with and offer some guidance on what to factor in when selecting a provider.
In the world of web hosting there are so many options it's dizzying. Each boasting that they are faster, cheaper, and easier to setup than the next. The purpose of this post is definitely not to wa...
