On the first nice day of the year for backyard parties, my pal Johnny had a BBQ, and I shot a few pictures. He's having another one today, so I felt it would be great time to get the pictures up in anticipation. Enjoy!
I carry my camera with me wherever I go, every day, so not every photo I take is from a commissioned body of work. Sometimes, it’s just a backyard barbecue at a friend’s house, like this start-of-spring party Johnny had back in April.I love the warm pre-sunset light, and I like to bump up the warmth just a touch to give it that creamy look. You’ll see what I’m talking about within. Enjoy!

New Photos on the blog of Union Pizza Works. Go check 'em out to get your pie cravings on.
Union Pizza Works is a lovely Italian restaurant I shoot as part of Nooklyn’s Bushwick Neighborhood Guide. UPW got a very industrial look, but the atmosphere of a modern Italian hangout is perfect - it’s fun, light, and you’re certain to have a good time.

I'm really loving Exposure.co for photography. Expect to see more photo blogging from me here! :D

My first post is some recent pictures of the exterior of The West, in Williamsburg.
The west has everything you need - coffee and breakfast burritos in the morning (from legendary Stan’s. If you don’t know what they’re about, you need one), sandwiches throughout the day, and drinks in the afternoon and evening. All with a cozy indoor space and nice little patio in the back.

I'm filling out my new website, nsdoyle.com, with some content from past shoots. Today's entry, Interior Designer Arlene Angard, whose beautiful showroom, great eye, and locally-made ethics are inspiring.
Arlene wanted to capture the feel of her upper east side storefront before several of the items sold at Design on a Dime. Many designers say “once it’s over, all of you’ve got is the pictures.” I’m happy I got to help out with cataloging her work.I really love the brick archways in the downstairs room, which Arlene told me neither she nor the landlord new about when she took the space - it was a happy discovery when they were doing the initial re...

These are my favorite shots from Pickthorn, a cozy, intimate salon in bushwick that I shot for Nooklyn in march.
These are my favorite photos from this recent shoot for Nooklyn.com. This Salon is such an elegant space that fits perfectly among the transforming industrial stretch of Bushwick, and Chelsea Pickthorn’s method of hand painting hair opened my eyes to aspects of hair coloring I never even new existed. Now when I spot a salon patron with a head full of foil, I find myself thinking: if only they knew it didn’t have to be that way. They just need to...

Introduction
I taught myself how to cook over the years, now I'm condensing all the knowledge I've accumulated to help everyone else learn to cook in their own homes so they can take their nutrition back into their own hands and spend some quality time with the people they care most about.
Bragging rights
People always ask "What Culinary School did you go to?" I didn't. I learned it all on my own. You could do the same, but it would also take you over a decade. How about some independent cooking classes, instead? ;D

Incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, prompt and friendly. My repair was a massive undertaking - an full engine swap that necessitated replacing several components and an incredible amount of labor. They keep me informed of every issue encountered along the way, always checked with me before making any changes or doing any work that would incur additional costs, and tested the car several times to make absolutely certain it was in top shape before handing back the keys -- and it was worth it. The car is running better than it ever has, and I've got their crew to thank. Wouldn't dream of taking my BMW to anyone else.
