I see a video that unfortunately does not see past the border of the united states of america and still quantifies weights in pounds instead of metric units.  Don't worry, some of us can still see clearly through muddy water. x

I was referring to the units of measure used in the video, pointing out that it was clearly aimed at American viewers as pretty much the rest of the world uses the metric system.

Just watched Time Lapse, really enjoyed it.  It's a low budget movie, but it's clever enough to take place in basically 2 rooms (there are a couple of other supplementary rooms to please the claustrophobics).  Acting is a bit basic, but that's fine.  It suits the story.  Only about 7 or eight characters but that's probably too many to be honest, but a good wee film nonetheless.  Anyone who likes time related sci-fi should like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BzYpF24LpY

I hope that all the +1s have enjoyed the film.  There is a small group of about 28 people that will either consider this film a classic bit of B+ movie-making.  And if you are not in this group and you now want to kill me for wasting an hour an a half of your life, I'd just like to say, "reasons before murders", "give me a good laugh before I murder you", muhhahahahah, at least that's what the poster said yesterday...

Anyone else playing on Linux?  I on Ubuntu 14.10 and looking for anyone that can share performance tips.  I'm currently on older hardware and things are a little slow (will be upgrading soon).  Game is playable but doesn't look as good as it could. Cheers!!

Apart from the difficulties connecting on the standalone at the moment, every server I manage to get on seems to be suffering from the same massive yellow lag spikes.  It doesn't seem to be just me, has anyone else experienced this here and if so, does anyone know if this is a server issue since QL moved to steam or is there some config thing that can fix it?

+Russell Brand "For the love of money is the root of all evil".  It may be a quote from the bible but it was probably never more trews then as it is now.

We live in a world where we have to interact with it (money) on some scale, no matter how far we want to distance ourselves from the love of it.  I believe that we should be starting to look at aspects of our society that can exist/perform/continue without money changing hands, physically or digitally.  I don't mean that we should devolve our society to one that barters goods and services for the other but rather, you do something because you can not because it can earn you a crust or two.

Lets look at the big things, we, and many other countries produce more food than we can eat (for financial purposes) but there are many who are unable to do so for whatever reason.  We should help them by giving them our surplus and the knowledge we used to create such a surplus.  In return we hope, but not demand that they in turn will share some insight they have on something that benefits us all.  Win win!

If there was no money we would not all of us have to work for ~40 hours a week (sometimes more) just to earn enough for our family to live.  Instead we could be employed in bettering our selves, our neighbours and our world by working at what is actually necessary for our common goals.  This might take 40+ hours a week or it may take 5 hours. However, we would all be filled with the satisfaction that our world was a better place for the work that we do as opposed to not being in debt and making an individual's wealth much greater today than it was yesterday.

Do away with money, provide a reason to work and I'm sure more people than do now would turn up for their few required hours a week and do a better job for the purpose of the betterment of humankind than anyone has ever done in the entire history of the modern world.

Although I'm delighted to see Doctor Who continuing I am very disappointed to see every episode be a small story.  I grew up with the programme when a story lasted at least half the season rather than a few elements making it though to the series end.  Apart from a few episodes, very little of the story telling has time to build up the tension and there seems to be no cliffhangers.  We should not need YouTube channels to add to the interest of Doctor Who.  We used to be able to talk about the previous episode in order to excite ourselves for the next.

Cry For Help!!

I'm trying to rebuild my css so that my site is responsive.  Right now I'm at the very start, lots to do.

I've hit my first wall, I cannot find which property is causing my content to be the correct width for mobiles but the overall page to be twice as wide meaning users can inadvertently scroll sideways.

I've been trying to find a tool to help me highlight elements of the page (an aid to my search)  but no luck so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks +Andrew Smith I'll have a look at manymo once their server load drops down to a level that means I can visit their site, good sign?  I'm only just starting out working with mobile devices as I've been fighting the requirement to actually work for a long time.  I've set myself a goal of editing/adding/removing one line of code each day to ease myself back into work mode.  So far that's going well and I'm actually starting to enjoy working on my sites again.
