Jim Gandy: 3:30 pm Wednesday - A line of thunderstorms will begin to enter the western Midlands by about 11 pm this evening. It should pass through Columbia between 1 to 3 am and exit the eastern Midlands around 4 am.

There will be a threat for high winds along with briefly heavy rains. Rainfall should be in the range of .5 to 1.5 inches.

Most of the rain will be late tonight into early tomorrow morning. The rain will be moving out of the southeast Midlands shortly after daybreak.

Jim Gandy: It will be dry for the weekend with lots of sun on Saturday. Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s by Sunday morning. Widespread frost is expected.

High clouds will pass over the Midlands on Sunday and Monday making skies partly cloudy. Clouds will be on the increase on Tuesday.

It will be warmer by mid-week, but there will be a chance for showers Wednesday & Thursday. Rainfall is expected to be light.

Dry weather will return on Friday. The dry weather is expected into next weekend which is good news for the USC game and the Colonial Cup.

Jim Gandy: A cold front will be passing through the Midlands on Saturday. It will be cloudy with showers and a few thunderstorms during the afternoon into the evening. Cooler air will follow the frontal passage. It will be cloudy with drizzle on Sunday.

Moisture will be overrunning the cool air on Monday. More clouds with occasional rain expected with the rain tapering off to drizzle during the evening.

The wedge of cool air will become trapped over the Midlands. Clouds will persist through Wednesday. It will be Thursday before we see much sunshine. Dry weather is expected for next weekend.

Jim Gandy: Clouds will be slow to move out, but there should be some sun Thursday afternoon. This will allow temperatures to warm into the mid to upper 70s. More sun is expected Friday with highs near 80.

A cold front will be passing through the Midlands Saturday evening. Scattered showers are expected ahead of the front. Clouds and cooler weather are on tap for Sunday & Monday. There will be a chance for showers each day.

The sun should return on Tuesday and milder temperatures are in store. High temperatures will be near 70 both days after cool mornings.

Jim Gandy: Milder, drier air will cover the Midlands for the next couple of days. It will be dry for Halloween even though clouds will be increasing Saturday night.

Rain will begin to move into the Midlands late on Sunday. It will be likely on Monday into Monday night. There could be locally heavy rains in the piedmont areas.

The rain should move out by Tuesday morning, but it will remain mostly cloudy. Warm, dry weather is expected for the middle of the week.

Jim Gandy: The first half of the workweek is likely to be cool with an increasing chance for rain. Warm air will begin to surge into the Midlands on Wednesday and there may be some thunderstorms. Total rainfall is likely to be in the range of .5" to 1.5".

Dry weather will return on Thursday as a storm system moves up the eastern seaboard. It will be warm on Thursday. Cooler, drier air will push into the Midlands Friday and through the weekend. Halloween is likely to be dry, scary, and delightful. This is what you would expect at this time of year.
