Star Trek was a big part of the Startling Sci-Fi: Literature, Genre Fiction, & Beyond event at the Jefferson Market Library. Many of our authors and even our editor, Casey Ellis, spoke about Star Trek’s influence on either their work or their love of Science Fiction. One particular point Ellis made was based on an article he read which highlighted the lack of LGBT characters is the ground-breaking and forward-thinking series. Here is that article.
