Circumstances can be painful. Circumstances can seem insurmountable. But even when situations seem overwhelming, believers can trust that our sovereign Lord knows all, is in control, and lovingly works everything for His children's good. We can rest confidently knowing that the unchanging God of all creation is taking care of us, in His time and His way. Scripture tells us that God is faithful, and our hearts can rest confidently in that promise. Our God makes this possible as He is omniscient, which means He knows everything, including our every need, thought, frailty, desire, and life situation in the past, present, and future. Our Lord is omnipotent, or all-powerful, so nothing is too hard for Him (Jer. 32:17). Then, He is omnipresent--since He exists everywhere at once, He is never beyond the reach of His children.
KEEP IN PRAYER AND IN MIND: our sick, shut-in, traveling; the bereaved, our young people at home and away; and all who have said, “Pray for me! Continue to send special prayers for God’s blessing, protection, healing, and direction for all on our prayer list. THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Are you “working out your salvation’? What exactly does that mean to you? Many mistakenly believe that the Apostle Paul was telling us to work for our salvation. Not so…….but something completely different.
Once you have claimed and trusted Jesus as your personal Savior, it is then that you can begin living out what He has given you as one of His children, which is abundant life! Once you have given your heart to Jesus, the Holy Spirit indwells you or in other words, He is with you forever. It is God’s spirit working within and through you that empowers you to live out your soul’s salvation.
The degree to which you yield to Him impacts the work He will achieve through you and the changes He will effect in your life. As your faith and relationship with the Lord develop, you will notice Him and his power moving on your life. In turn when you share your faith and let your light shine for others to clearly see Jesus in you, you will notice God working in even more ways. Just keep following Him and you will see the seeds He’s planted within you, flourish! Read it for yourself in Isiah 55:10-11. When we are “working out our salvation”, we need to reverently live out what He has given us and allow the life of Christ to come fully to fruition in you, an example of godly life wherever you go.
Allow God’s Spirit to energize you and to make a difference among your friends, family, and other’s for Jesus sake. As you work out your soul’s salvation, be like a light that shines for the world to see, a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden. Hallelujah!!!
