Fluoride Exposure in Pregnancy Tied to ADHD Symptoms in Kids
Interesting new study, shows how environmental toxins possibly contribute to brain development. Good news is that with proper nutrition and neurofeedback the brain can rewire itself!

Do Diet and Nutrition Affect ADHD? | Psychiatric Times
Yes. From the article: Meta-analyses have shown that for about 8% of children, elimination of certain foods, additives, and food colors resulted in significant improvement in ADHD symptoms.

We see it occasionally when a family rents a neurofeedback system for their ADHD child and the results are slow. We ask families to check for food allergies, particularly to preservatives and food coloring. Once off the allergens the changes we'd expect from neurofeedback happen. Tip: one way to find out: take your kids off processed foods and sugars for 3 weeks if you can and see what changes!

"We work best when we are functioning in a calm alert state: where we are at ease, but ready to take action on the spot and relate to stressors and challenges with the actual (usually non-threatening) information given. The two best ways to work with your mind and nervous system are with meditation and neurofeedback -- better yet, having both a regular sitting practice of at least 10 minutes a day and doing neurofeedback 2-3 times a week can be the penultimate combination in optimizing the functioning of your brain and mind.
