I am extremely unhappy and will not recommend nest to anyone until I feel my issue has been resolved to my satisfaction.
The Rush Hour Rewards program is a SCAM. Not only did we never see any of the credits that were promised by the program, the program cost us hundreds in higher utility fees and constantly raised the temp in our home. I signed up for this program through Nest. Nest needs to police this program. When the signing up for the program the description said we would see the temp changed 6 to 12 times a season. We were seeing more than 6 a week. This would cause our home temp to raise well over 80 degrees and would take hours to lower to a comfortable level when we got home. This caused us to use much more electricity than we would have otherwise.
I contacted support on the 11th and I was told I would be removed and I would receive a call from a supervisor the next day. No call and apparently our removal from the program was rejected. This is not acceptable. I will not be buying ANY Nest products anytime soon till Nest can earn my trust back. I am a very long time customer of Google (I have 5 Google Apps Domain for Business) and am a Google Apps reseller. I will now consider moving all my customers to Microsoft as well. Nest has broken the trust. You no longer can be trusted with my data and I will make sure that the world know about it. I will be writing an open letter and sending it to many media outlet as well as registering a domain to publish it too about this issue.
I asked support to make sure that Nest was no longer sharing data with my utility and they said they would not do that. I am also not happy about that. I will be looking for new thermostats from another company. I was planning on the newest model from Nest but will not now. I no longer trust Nest to be good stewards of my data.
