My team and I did some digging in the WP Plugin directory and pulled some interesting statistics:
- The average rating for a WordPress plugin is 4.18 stars
- Only 12.52% of WP plugins have a perfect five-star rating
- Over 6,000 WP plugins have never been rated, and 64% of plugins have fewer than five ratings
- Only 35.9% of WP plugins have been updated in the last 12 months.
- 38.7% of Jetpack users are still running versions of Jetpack older than 2.9.3 despite the critical security flaw
