You almost fooled me Canonical but I should have known better! Thanks for showing me the truth +Bryan Lunduke! Great article!

My take on +Canonical's recent press release that "Universal 'snap' packages launch on multiple Linux distros".

Other possible headline for this article:
"The Suggestion of Collaboration is the Causation for Frustration"
Canonical implies it is collaborating with just about every major Linux distribution for its Snappy project. It is not. And what could have been a marketing win for it is now a loss.

Tomorrow only happens once every 100 years. #PiDay
Happy birthday, Einstein! But this is also Pi Day, and a very special Pi Day at that. Why so special? The date is 3/14/15, the first five digits in the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. And—get ready for this—at 26 minutes and 53 seconds after...

Amazing! Really excited to see this become standard!

One reason to love #Linux on your servers or in your data-center is that you so seldom needed to #reboot it. True, critical patches require a reboot, but you could go months without rebooting. Now, with the latest changes to the Linux kernel you may be able to go years between reboots.
Summary:With the new Linux 4.0 kernel, you'll need to reboot Linux less often than ever.

YES! I love this movie! It was one of my first DVDs and it was double sided! You had to flip it over half way through the movie!
Two years before “Independence Day” blasted the doors off the box office, Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin were already exploring alien life with “Stargate.” The film went on to gross almost $200 mi…

Just a happy birthday to something that will never be "big and professional". #Linux

From: torvalds@klaava.Helsinki.FI(Linus Benedict Torvalds)
Newsgroups: comp.os.minix
Subject: What would you like to see most in minix?
Summary: small poll for my new operating system
Message-ID: <1991Aug25.205708.9541@klaava.Helsinki.FI>

Hello everybody out there using minix –

I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and
professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing
since april, and is starting to get ready. I’d like any feedback on
things people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat
(same physical layout of the file-system (due to practical reasons)
among other things).

I’ve currently ported bash(1.08) and gcc(1.40), and things seem to work.
This implies that I’ll get something practical within a few months, and
I’d like to know what features most people would want. Any suggestions
are welcome, but I won’t promise I’ll implement them :-)

Linus (torvalds@kruuna.helsinki.fi)

PS. Yes – it’s free of any minix code, and it has a multi-threaded fs.
It is NOT protable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never
will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that’s all I have :-(.

Pretty cool to see my 3 year old play one of my favorite games that came out over ten years before she was born!
