How Do I?  -

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has tried using Craft as a datasource for an iOS app created in Swift? My initial thought is to simply use JSON or create an API.

Hey Brandon, thanks for the reply. Do you know of any examples in the wild? I'm interested to create an app that would pull places stored in Craft with geo-coordinates to show users what's nearby.

How Do I?  -

Hi there,

I have created a Structure page 'Products' with a URL of '/products' so that I can write a description etc, but then I would also like to pull in the Products into the template.

I'm a little unsure on how best to achieve this, particularly so that the Products index page will use the products/index.html template instead of the section default page/_entry.html.

The Sections are created as follows;

Page
Handle: page
Type: Structure
URL Format: {slug}
Entry Template: page/_entry

Product
Handle: product
Type: Channel
URL Format: products/{slug}
Entry Template: products/_product

In ExpressionEngine I would have pulled in a Channel entries tag for the page and then another entries tag for the products.

Hi there,
I'm interested to know if Craft has a similar solution to Multi Site Manager in EE?

I'm planning a project that would have 10+ regional sites that could share a variety of content between them but also give permissions for owners of each site to publish unique content to their respective sites.

The sites would also be served on their own domains and also using their native languages.

Thanks.

Designing iOS apps can be difficult sometimes, but finding correct and up-to-date information about all of Apples’ devices shouldn’t be.

General Questions  -

Hi there,

I'm trying to work out how to do a hitCallback with GTM, I think it needs to be set in the 'Fields to Set' part of the Tag with a Field Name of 'hitCallback'. In UA I have an onclick for a link like so;

onclick="ga('send', 'event', 'Place to Stay', 'Book', '/somepage', 10, {'page': '/somepage'}, {'nonInteraction': 1}, {'hitCallback': function() {document.location = 'http://www.domain.tld/somepage'}});"

Using GTM I am using a data-track-gtm="Place to Stay,Book,/somepage,10,1"

Notes: /somepage will change dependant on the page being viewed, as will the 10 value (i'm passing the price of a hotel room here). I'm then adding ',1' to set the nonInteraction but i'm not sure if this is correct.

For the hitCallback I think I then need to add a full URL to the end of the data-track-gtm.

In GTM I'm using a Macro to extract each part of the data-track-gtm like so;

CATEGORY
function() {
var tracking = {{element}}.getAttribute('data-track-gtm');
tracking = tracking.split(',');

if (typeof tracking === 'object') {
return tracking[0];
} else {
return false;
}
}

ACTION
function() {
var tracking = {{element}}.getAttribute('data-track-gtm');
tracking = tracking.split(',');

if (typeof tracking === 'object') {
return tracking[2];
} else {
return false;
}
}

LABEL
function() {
var tracking = {{element}}.getAttribute('data-track-gtm');
tracking = tracking.split(',');

if (typeof tracking === 'object') {
return tracking[3];
} else {
return false;
}
}

VALUE
function() {
var tracking = {{element}}.getAttribute('data-track-gtm');
tracking = tracking.split(',');

if (typeof tracking === 'object') {
return tracking[4];
} else {
return false;
}
}

I'd be interested to know any best practice for doing the hitCallback.

Thank you.

Hey Phil, thanks for the reply. I'll give this a try. Basically on my page I have a form that the user can choose a date to check hotel room availability and then it returns results by loading another page/template via ajax.

Each result in the list has it's downlink to Book that room from a third party site. So hence the inline script on each link because each link will have a different value.

I was following some notes from this article http://viget.com/advance/gtm about using a data attribute to store Category,Action,Label,Value. They provide some script to grab each part of the data attribute.
