Smiling. Standing. Breathing. It hasn't felt this good for Phil in years. He's the first patient in our new lung transplant program and thanks to someone who made the decision to be a donor, Phil is going home to his family today. http://bit.ly/215dlpp

Busy? Oh, baby. Our award-winning NICU and Women's Services team has been wonderfully busy with a record number of twins. Beautiful faces, beautiful stories.
We’re seeing double… seven times! We currently have seven sets of twins in the NICU. That’s a record here at Nebraska Medicine. 9 boys and 5 girls. All but one set were born at Nebraska Medicine. The LeSalas twins were born in Wichita, Kan. on Jan. 9 at 26 weeks and transferred to us for... Read more »

Only a few American hospitals offer all types of solid organ transplants. Today, Nebraska Medicine joins that list.

The physicians running the program say the med center will serve patients in Nebraska, western Iowa and elsewhere in the region who have faced inconvenience and travel costs and sometimes have decided against pursuing lung transplants. Patients in the region typically have gone to Iowa City, Minneapolis, Denver and St. Louis for lung transplants.

Dave never expected to need a new liver. 17 years ago today, a transplant saved his life.
It was in January of 1988, right in the middle of a rewarding Air Force flying career, when I was told that I had a serious bile duct disease in my liver. I would need a liver transplant to save my life. Being a person who enjoyed perfect health my entire life (up to then),... Read more »

The medical teams have saved my life multiple times! The fact I am walking around on earth is largely attributable to them. Checkout the latest 1001 magazine, a story of their work.

IT WAS JUST AN APPLICATION, BUT THE ONE, MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS IS YOUR AUTO FILL, NEEDS UPDATED AND REBOOTED. I CANNOT COMPLETE AN APPLICATION OF EMPLOYMENT WITH YOU, IF THE AUTO-FILL IS BUGGING. FIX-IT, PLEASE. DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE A HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT,THAT CAN LOOK INTO THIS MATTER.

Too busy to actually care for patients. Mis-diagnosis not uncommon. ER at Oak View TOTALLY misdiagnosed me and ran useless tests that I will be getting a big bill from any day now. Can't get appointments, even when you say on the phone while trying to make an appointment "something is wrong with my heart" they don't even say "what is wrong with your heart?" or "you need to get to the emergency room now", just "we can't see you for 6 days". What kind of clinic ignores a patient having an unknown heart problem like that, and does not even tell you to go to the ER? Problem was caused by UNMC clinic Doctor giving me pills that are CLEARLY MARKED AS ALLERGIC TO in my record, but I didn't know that until I looked them up after the ER visit.
