We love helping people, after all, we are in the people business! We took a trip to Guatemala to help out so many of the people with their dental needs. It was a very rewarding and enjoyable trip. You can read all about it here.
One of the things we love to do right here at home is contribute our time and energy to the Children’s Dental Center. We recently recieved a very nice certificate of appreciation from the Assistance League of Eugene who sponsor such programs.

It's Memorial Day weekend! A fun time to gather with friends and family celebrating and realxing. With all the fun activities, comes all the delicious party food. Two of the most popular items consumed during the labor day holiday are actually the worst for your teeth: SODA & RIBS. Unfortunately, rib meat easily gets stuck in between your teeth and all that sticky sweet barbecue sauce stays on your teeth causing tooth decay. And the soda gets continuously sipped, providing a steady supply of pure sugar to your vulnerable teeth. If you just can't resist those tasty ribs - and who can - be sure to floss and brush those food particles away soon after you eat. As for the water, here is a fun way to perk it up.

Juice + Seltzer = Jeltzer!
Mix 100% juice with seltzer. A thick, tart juice, such as cranberry, pomegranate, or grape, makes for a great jeltzer base in addition to supplying health benefits. Studies have shown that cranberry juice might protect against urinary tract infections and kidney stones; pomegranate juice is a great source of vitamins C and B; and grape juice has antioxidants that may help protect your brain and blood vessels. Mix one part juice with three parts seltzer to create this light and bubbly concoction.

While you’re swishing that minty-fresh paste around your mouth, think about what people used long ago to clean teeth, before toothpaste was invented:

Ground-up chalk or charcoal mixed with soap
    Lemon juice
Ashes from wood, ox hooves or burned eggshells
    Crushed bones and oysters
    Powdered myrrh
And a few others we don’t care to mention

Yuck!
