Something for a rainy day.
Ever wanted to control your Android Things-powered device simply by talking to the Google Assistant it embeds? Now you can with Device Actions.

If you want to know more, I've written an introduction article, and a sample project you can clone and modify for your needs:

Ooh, something to flash my Pi3 with.
Today, we’re releasing Developer Preview 5 (DP5) for Android Things, which includes the major change of being based on the upcoming Android O release, as well as supporting the new NXP SprIoT i.MX6UL

Read the full blog here: goo.gl/5JwjSt

With the change to Android O, developers should target API 26 to work correctly on the platform with our support libraries. DP5 now supports OpenGL ES 2.0, WebView, and dynamic pin muxing on the Raspberry Pi 3, and other fixes and features for all supported platforms.

Guess I'll try this out on my dead 6p.
It's a bit messy, but it may be worth trying if you're out of warranty.

I want to make a bird cam and bought a Pie with 8MP Pi Cam 2. I seem to only get 320x240 out of it. Any way to get full resolution images in Android Things?

What's up with the new Architecture Component ViewModel? Find out in the first of a series of blog posts about ViewModels. The post this week is an introduction to ViewModels and the ViewModel lifecycle with a simple practical example: https://goo.gl/UNe9fg

There'll be deeper ViewModel dives to come, so let us know your ViewModel and Architecture Component related questions!
