Something I added in my Studios drum closet. An older ipad2 that I had so I can wirelessly mirror my main studios DAW screen for drummers to see while in session. Using an app called V Control pro.

A weird phenomenon I discovered today when burning mixdown to CD that I thought Id share and maybe some of you experienced engineers can confirm this. I usually use waveburner when burning audio to a cd. But I noticed that the burning speeds can actually make a difference in audio quality. When I burn a cd at max speed, it actually degraded the audio and added weird pops and noises to the Cd. It took me a while to figure out how to fix this problem. I tried burning the cd at half the speed and it actually fixed the problem. Just wondering if anyone else ever encountered this problem as well?

I was told that at lower burning speeds the compatibility was better for more disk players. I had some issues before but never after i burned at lower speeds so it seems plausible to me.

Been reading about Adams Monitor company going bankrupt. Does this mean we should get a pair of A7X now before they all disappear? Kind of glad I didn't jump on the Adams bandwagon when they were on top of the monitor list.

Geez just spent the last 2 days repairing my studios website from scratch!! Cant believe my web hosting did some upgrade and ruined the site. Wondering if any of you guys have a website for your studio. Could use some ideas to help improve it.

Since there's been talk about AKAI samples. Just wondering if any of you guys are old schooled when Logic Audio and EXS24 was still 32bit mode and still had the AKAI Convert option? I noticed ever since Logic became a 64bit app, the AKAI Convert option has disappeared on EXS24. I used to collect alot of AKAI Sample CDs way back when but cant seem to import them anymore. :-( Has anyone found a bridge to use them still?

I think it's time for a new rule when taking on new clients for my studio. if you only know Kanye West but have no idea who Paul McCartney is, I will not take them on, either that, charge them 10x my usual rate because obviously we are dealing talentless and very clueless bunch of people that will be wasting my time. Im absolutely disgusted with this topic. Shows how crappy the music world has degraded.

I get your point but it can be done tastefully. The Daft Punk album is stellar, Adele, the new D'Angelo sounds great. There are a lot of others but too few.IMO. With all the technology we have these days you would think we have more time to focus on sound quality and content.

The beta 58 is definitely much nicer than a standard SM 58. Also wondering if any of you guys ever tried a submic for the kick? Was thinking of trying to build one or try either the yamaha subkick or DWs moon mic?

LOL first sequencer I used was was Opcodes Studio Vision Pro on an ancient Mac Pro 9500. Only used the midi on it and smpte time coded it to several different 8 track audio recorders (porta studios, ADATs. Remember OMS??? One of the 1st audio editor I used was Digidesigns Sound Designer and then Protools with an audiomedia ii card. All mixing to a dat in real time. Damn!!! That takes me back!! :-)

What was the first program/software you used to record, edit, mix and/or master in? Mine was Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 back in the late 90's. #recording #mixing #mastering #daw
