This 390-year-old bonsai tree survived an atomic bomb, and no one knew until 2001.
The U.S. National Arboretum is honoring the tree’s history 70 years after the Hiroshima bombing.

If you are asked to evacuate in the event of a fire or other natural disaster, please do so. Also, make sure you have plans for your pets to be out of harms way as well.
More than 50 buildings, including 24 residences have been destroyed, by the Rocky Fire.

Keep an eye on the sky tonight!

Don't miss the blue moon tonight!
There's a "Blue Moon" in the sky today, but it won't look different than other full moons. The term blue moon has come to refer to the second full moon in a given month.

Zimbabwean has suspended the hunting of lions, leopards and elephants in an area favored by hunters following the killing of a lion popular with tourists. Bow and arrow hunts have also been suspended and they are investigating the killing of another lion in April that may have been illegal.
Cecil the lion is seen here in 2012 at his home in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park. Responding to his killing, the country has banned hunting of lions, leopards and elephants.
