Great news, New Yorkers! As of this afternoon, fracking in New York State is officially BANNED.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officially banned hydrofracking on Monday.

Introduction
Nature Abounds™, a national 501c3 non-profit organization, is encouraging people to unplug, wake up, and take action on issues that help their local community as well as the planet. 

Nature Abounds™ serves as a center where people can connect with like-minded people interested in protecting the environment and in taking action for a healthier planet. Formed in 2008, Nature Abounds has launched several successful programs nationally - IceWatch USAWatch the Wild, Knitters for Nature's Critters, Turtle Ambassadors, and Climate Change Ambassadors. Nature Abounds has also revitalized the Senior Environment Corps (SEC), engaging senior citizens in environmental activities such as water quality monitoring and mentoring the next generation of environmental stewards. In 2013, Nature Abounds received the prestigious Western Pennsylvania Environmental Award for the SEC program.To date, Nature Abounds is engaging approximately 5,500 volunteers across all fifty states, Puerto Rico, and beyond.
