Some brief thoughts on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II
So a few weeks back I bought the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II. After exclusively using it alongside my E-M1 for 3 weeks I think I am ready to provide some feedback on my experience.
The biggest feature that has been a stand out for me is the 5 axis stabilisation. Apart from the shot in this post (which was taken with the Mark II on a tripod), I have used it without a tripod in a variety of low light situations and the results have been exceptional. Instead of increasing my ISO, I have been decreasing the shutter speed and putting the stabilisation to the test. It worked brilliantly every time! To date, I have not really tested out the high res shot feature so I can't comment on that however the sharpness and colour reproduction in the files has been great. The articulating screen is a welcome addition and as always with the latest Olympus cameras, the EVF is fantastic. Coming from the E-M1, I was a little worried about the smaller grip but so far I have found it to be very comfortable to use and ridiculously light, even when using with the 40-150mm. I could shoot with this camera all day and not even notice the weight, whereas I would certainly be feeling it after shooting for that amount of time with my DSLR equivalent.
This isn't a review, just summary of a few of the great things about this camera off the top of my head so if anyone has questions about the E-M5 Mark II that they would like answered, please feel free to comment below 😃#olympus #olympusinspired #microfourthirds #olympusomd #mirrorless #olympus_au #getolympus +Olympus AU +Olympus
