Ready to be in my own boardgame! via +Squared

Ever wished for something better from a photobooth than an overexposed, unflattering mug shot? Well, this cubicle from Japan has the answer. Using 3D printing techniques, it produces an anatomically-correct figurine for you to take home instead. Wonderful.

Thanks! The project we started up, IoT Toolkit, is nominated in the Open Source category. We also use the Raspberry Pi and EVE Alpha

http://postscapes.com/awards/category/open-source-project

Raspberry Pi runs Open Source software but the hardware design itself is proprietary to the Raspberry Pi foundation.

By comparison, the Schematic and PCB files for EVE alpha are available on Github under an Open Hardware license. I have made my own EVE boards already.

I also have a question about the open-ness of Ninja Blocks. They provide an open client design but their Ninja Cloud is proprietary. I believe you need Ninja Cloud to make it work. So... is it Open Source?

#2 Frog: A Collective Action Toolkit

Our big find of the week is Frog and their Collective Action Toolkit (CAT). CAT is a package of resources and activities that enable groups of people anywhere in the world to organise, build trust and collaboratively create solutions for problems impacting their community.

They have worked on business cases from how to make Vogue Italia online have the same visual qualities as a magazine to reimagining wind power. We particularly love their work with the Nike Foundation and Girl effect to explore the nature and value of digital connections for young women living in poverty.

Great to get in touch with startups at a grassroots level... we've all got a lot to teach each other...

Last night a team of Squares held an amazing workshop for a bunch of young entrepreneurs at Google Campus. The session aimed to give insight into the definition of a brand and supply the attendees with the tools they need to go out an create strong brands for their own businesses.

The workshop, devised by +Giulia Watson+Robert Pryor and their team, went down a storm and is a great example of some of the strong work that the Squared network is starting to do!
