I'm already a huge fan of Google Sheets, but +1 for offline support, filters, and much faster.
Whether you’re crunching big data or tracking your family budget, you don’t want to waste time waiting for files to load or re-doing edits that were lost because your Internet connection dropped. You can now get more done by ...

I've been told by some people that I walk too quickly, but this gives me a good excuse for doing so...

This blog post from +Timothy Lee  at WaPo is the clearest explanation I've read of what Netflix's deal with Comcast actually entails and the implications of it.

Disruptive innovation: Inexpensive but very good videoconferencing solution for companies.
The best meetings are face-to-face—we can brainstorm openly, collaborate closely and make faster decisions. But these days, we often connect with each other from far-flung locations, coordinating time zones and dialing into c...

Chattanooga, TN, built a government-owned fiber-optic network that delivers gigabit speeds to consumers for less than $70 per month. Not only is this good for consumers and businesses, but economically super-fast Internet provides tremendous positive externalities that benefit the city (attracts new businesses, provides competitive advantages to existing businesses, grows the city's tax base, etc.)

In contrast, most Americans throughout the rest of the country pay broadband providers who are in monopoly or duopoly markets (e.g., AT&T or Comcast) $50+ per month for speeds of 3, 5, or 10 Mbps.

I would love to see the Federal government (or, at least, state or local governments) follow Chattanooga's model by providing gigabit Internet access at affordable rates--even though doing so almost certainly requires either significant bond issuance or subsidies from the government's general fund or some other financing means.

Doesn’t the stuff you keep online deserve the same protection as the stuff you keep offline? Under a law called ECPA, government agencies in the U.S. can see what you’ve written and stored online without a warrant. Sign this petition to the White House and tell the government to get a warrant!
