Title: Have a Good Summer
Subtitle: The Devil's Kissing His Wife

Open full screen and zoom in for the details. Those spots on the left? It was raining as I took this shot (hence the subtitle)!

This is one of my two submissions for the latest +Chrysta Rae photography scavenger hunt, 14 is Fabulous.

It reflects my mood at the time so while it isn't as powerful in terms of composition and technique as it could be, the story is deeply personal.

How about we #ShakeUpTheStream!

New Day's Hope

I have been doing a lot of thinking about how my main stream no longer shows everyone, or even a few and their newest posts, about how my own posts get increasingly smaller interaction, and how if my posts are doing that, then everyone's are.  I think the algorithm that governs what we see and what others see of our own stuff has gotten too restrictive.  And it frustrates me to no end - especially when I have 100 new posts in my stream and most are either 24 hours old, something I have already seen (and plussed or commented) or both.  Fresh isn't happening anymore and it is FRUSTRATING.

I don't normally notify anyone of my posts but for this, I am (and I am not even sure how many will get the notification - over 3500 in my circles).  What I am proposing is an experiment of sorts.  To all of those that comment on this post, I will go to your stream and plus the heck out of you, comment as much as possible, and over the next week, share a few my favorite posts.  Here is the catch - you have to share this post or something similar, calling your own circles to action.

Let's see if we can shake up the algorithm a bit.  Let's see if we can take back control of our streams LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE.  Let's see if our streams start showing our favorite people again.  A week from now, I will make a new post so I can see if my stream has changed... hopefully, mine will and so will yours.

To quote Sherlock Holmes (saw the exhibit at Perot Museum of Nature and Science yesterday)...

The game's afoot!

THIS THE OFFICIAL SIGN UP POST
for the 15TH Round
of the +Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt!!!
______________________________________________________________
The Photography Scavenger Hunt started as a game, that has turned into so, so soooo much more than just a game.

If you love photography,
and you have a camera,
you can play!

After sign ups (500 spots are open)
I will be giving you an item list - (after I have everyone registered)
10 simple things to take pictures of.

I give you an amount of time to get those shots done
(approximately 2 months).

You do NOT need to be a professional shooter.
You do NOT need to feel any hesitation on your skill level,
as this group of Scavengers is one of the most supportive groups of people around.
This is just FOR FUN.
And to get you using your camera in ways you might not do otherwise,
It's to push yourself to try new things.

You will be invited into a private community
where you WILL make friends,
you WILL learn from some amazing photographers,
we have behind-the-scenes lessons,
personal interaction with the judges, etc. etc.
You will have support and be encouraged and be a part of
THE MOST amazing community on G+.
- Proven without a doubt last week in Vegas.

SO, if that sounds like something you'd like to be a part of...
All you have to do is type two simple little words, "*I'M IN* "
And you will be registered.

IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP SOMEONE AS A PROXY
(if someone has asked you to sign them up)
do so on different comments AND THEY MUST BE + mentioned!!

I will only enter ONE PERSON per comment,
if there are more than one on a single comment,
only the first person will be entered.
(This is the only way I can keep track of the 500 spots.)

PLEASE DO NOT comment on this post unless it is to sign up.
Any stray comments will be deleted.

PLEASE DO NOT sign up unless you actually want to participate, not just because you see everyone else doing it.

I can't wait to spend the spring with you!!!!

And with that - (like any of you even read this) - let the registration BEGIN!!  bounces around room

Just say, "Im In" and you will be included.

The Photo below is pretty freaking EPIC

That is ME posing for my our very own, +Derek Kind
who kindly had the vision for this, executed it,
AND taught me HOW while doing it!!!
I don't remember a single thing he said, but it was AMAZING!

My second submission for the latest +Chrysta Rae photography scavenger hunt, 14 is Fabulous.

My taste in art trends more towards classical than modern but it was great fun coming up with an Abstract composition. And I managed to pull it off without damaging my Nikon D7000 (imagine one swinging at high speed from camera strap).

We're officially on DAY TWO of REVEALS
from the +14 IS sorta FABULOUS* round
of the +Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt!!!

What you are about to experience
over the course of the next 9 days is pretty freaking awesome.
We play a game - 500 photographers and myself - a scavenger hunt.

What  is the scavenger hunt?
Only the most inspiring, creative and fun way to learn your camera, push your limits, experiment, and shoot things in ways you didn't think you could.

I host this event every season for anyone of any level of photography to participate.
I open the game up to 500 Photographers
I give you 10 items to shoot
I give you a period of time to shoot and enter your photos.
Then I have them judged by amazing photographers
(this round's judges were +Ron Clifford, +Robin Griggs Wood, +Scott Jarvie, +Les Imgrund, and our winner from last round - +Carla McMahon!

I then open the albums up to the public - every morning over the course of 10 days.
We are doing things differently this round due to technical difficulties - all albums will be revealed and THEN all winners announced at the end.
There are 10 categories:
This is the 2ND - the CANDY  album. See my profile page for yesterdays reveal - the "WITCH" album.

This event is an amazing way to use your camera in new ways.
It gets you seeing things in new ways,
It helps improve your photography skills,
gives you a huge audience,
and let's everyone celebrate each other's successes.
Make new friends,
and be a part of a community of photographers who care about each other, teach each other, and inspire one another.

The group of "scavengers" that participate create a community unlike any other on G+.
Support, encouragement  friendships even some #huntsmack is enjoyed.
We become a family over the course of the month.

This is a negative-free zone - I have zero tolerance for any critiques that are uninvited.
Please be respectful and remember that every person went out there and took the time to shoot these images
and put thought into them and tried their best.
As always, I am proud of every single one of you.

(NONE of the images were taken by ME - this is a collection of images taken by multiple photographers participating in the scavenger hunt. All copyrights apply)

With that - I present to you the  CANDY album,
1 item seen in 193 different ways.

I have been seeing Dr. Shaddix for more years than I can remember. He and his staff have always taken excellent care of my wife and me. They are exceptionally well organized and efficient on the one hand and so personable and caring they feel like family on the other. I would highly recommend Dr. Shaddix to anyone!

Had high hopes but they were dashed. Food was fantastic (what little we had), service by Jay was terrible. A shame, as service from rest of the staff was excellent. Won't be back.
